White House deputy press secretary Raj Shah said that Trump doesn't intend to get rid of Rosenstein after Trump made the vague remark "You figure that one out" after being asked if he would fire Rosenstein.
A belated kudos to Trump's handlers for somehow managing to keep him off Twitter for a couple days surrounding the SOTU address.
I hear the WH staff gave Trump 'a few hours' to read the three-and-a-half-page memo, but still are not sure if he did, its seems that it was the hype on Fox that convinced him it would be so good for him.
For an administration that says it is now hip on transparency. We’ve Got the Memo. Now What About Trump’s Tax Returns? By THE EDITORIAL BOARD FEB. 2, 2018 Opinion | We’ve Got the Memo. Now What About Trump’s Tax Returns? "Since the Republicans are now on board with greater transparency, they will no doubt push President Trump to release his tax returns, as every other major-party presidential nominee has done for the past four decades, won’t they? How about the White House visitor logs, which the Trump administration started hiding from the public last year? Or, say, the names of all foreign governments and officials who have stayed — at their own or at American taxpayers’ expense — at Mr. Trump’s Washington hotel, at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida or at his golf courses and his other businesses since he became president? Or the names of every foreign business with which the Trump Organization has a financial relationship, especially in countries where America has sensitive foreign policy interests, like China, India, Russia, Turkey or Saudi Arabia?"

While everyone was distracted by the memo. The Trump Administration Allowed a Sanctioned Russian Spy Chief to Meet With Intelligence Officials in the U.S. By Deb Riechmann / AP January 31, 2018 A Top Russian Spy Chief Visited the U.S. Despite Sanctions
Trump's communication Director, Hope Hicks, is the newest Trump ally rising from the swamp. This after a she helped write the cover story for Trump Jrs' secret Russian meeting to get dirt on Clinton. A member of Trump's legal team, Mark Corallo, said he had a phone call from her about little Trump's emails concerning the meeting in which she said, “Only a few people have them. They will never get out.”
Hope Hicks worked for Ivanka's fashion line at Trump Tower. Trump liked her looks when he brought her into his campaign with no political experience. She's 100% loyal to Trump. She lets Trump do what he wants. In Trump's mind, those are excellent qualifications for a communications director. Personality-wise, her low-profile is a complete opposite of her predecessor, the loud-mouth and profane Scaramucci who holds the record for shortest tenure of any administration at about one week. Hope is apparently the longest lasting political aide in Trump's administration.
Oh Yeah! Mexico is gonna pay for the wall The Dreamers are accepted. We are gonna have lots of love We are gonna have great affordable health care...it's gonna be beautiful...everyone will be covered...just beautiful

Husband of former Trump household aide scores government job The home contractor from New Jersey is now working as an official in the Environmental Protection Agency's New York regional office. By ANDREW RESTUCCIA 02/02/2018 05:53 PM EST Husband of former Trump household aide scores government job excerpts: "A home improvement contractor married to one of Donald and Melania Trump’s former household staffers is now working as an official at the Environmental Protection Agency, the latest example of someone with a personal connection to the Trump family finding work in the administration. Trump, who appointed his daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner to senior White House roles, has made a habit of appointing people with close ties to his family or businesses rather than experienced policymakers or political hands. His White House social media director, Dan Scavino, started working for him years ago as a caddy, and his first security director, Keith Schiller, traveled with him from the Trump Organization to the White House. In June, Trump appointed Lynne Patton, a party planner who arranged events at Trump golf courses as well as Eric Trump’s 2014 wedding, to head the New York office of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development."
The inexperienced Ben Carson is in good company at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development with the help of a former party planner for Trump's golf course.
As expected, Trump tweeted on the weekend that the memo totally vindicated him after he got his daily formal White House briefing from Fox & Friends telling him what to say.
It's ironic that McCarthy's smear tactics stemmed from his fear of Russian agents, whereas for Trump and his associates it stems from fondness of them.
