Giuliani associate told ex-CIA officer a Trump pardon would 'cost $2m’ – report

    excerpt:

"Meant to reward offenders who show contrition, presidential pardons do not imply innocence. Presidents often use them to reward allies but Trump has taken the practice to extremes.

Among recent recipients of pardons or acts of clemency are Michael Flynn, Trump’s first national security adviser who pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about contacts with Russia; the political dirty trickster Roger Stone, who did not turn on Trump during the Russia investigation in which he was convicted of obstructing Congress; Paul Manafort, Trump’s former campaign manager convicted in the Russia investigation; and Charles Kushner, father of Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner who was convicted of tax fraud and witness retaliation.

The Times report detailed an “ad hoc” White House system for approving pardons which it said was run by the younger Kushner, bypassing the usual “intensive justice department review process intended to identify and vet the most deserving recipients from among thousands of clemency applications”"

Giuliani associate told ex-CIA officer a Trump pardon would 'cost $2m’ – report

    excerpt:

"The report also identified lobbyists it said were seeking pardons on behalf of fee-paying clients.

Margaret Love, who was the United States pardon attorney at the Department of Justice for seven years, told the paper: “This kind of off-books influence peddling, special-privilege system denies consideration to the hundreds of ordinary people who have obediently lined up as required by justice department rules, and is a basic violation of the longstanding effort to make this process at least look fair.”

Trump will lose legal protection once he leaves office and faces threats both potential and already in train. He has reportedly discussed issuing pre-emptive pardons to himself, Kushner, Giuliani and other family members and close aides. It is not clear whether a self-pardon would work."

Also, let the FBI know he fled the family basement and is currently hiding out in the crawlspace above the garage with a weeks supply of Laffy Taffy,
    Skittles, and M&M's.

He's hoping to eventually make it as far as his friend's house down the block, who has promised to hide him in the attic

"THEY say" and "I heard". That's how he "disguises / disseminates " much of his well received (by the morons) --bullshit. What a way to run a government! And yet he receives overwhelming republican support. 30,000 lies and counting. Between now and Wednesday, he still has time to lob a few thousand more to his adoring suck-ass dolts.

True. They can be fun to watch, especially if they are trying something difficult. Like--say--tying their shoes.

'I had no qualms': The people turning in loved ones for the Capitol attack
The majority of more than 140,000 tips sent to the FBI about the attack have come from friends and family of those involved

'I had no qualms': The people turning in loved ones for the Capitol attack

    excerpt:

"When Alison Lopez discovered her uncle’s sister had been part of the mob that breached the Capitol doors on 6 January, she immediately reported her to the FBI. “I had no second thoughts,” she said.

Lopez found out about her in-law’s participation when the woman in question called her aunt from inside the Capitol to brag about “taking back the election”. Lopez, who is 42, said she had known the relative her whole life but had “no qualms” about reporting her.

“If I saw my grandmother making bombs in her basement, or my aunt breaking into a home, I would have to intervene as well – it’s just about doing what’s right,” she said.

In the week after the attacks on the Capitol, there has been a concerted effort to “unmask” rioters online, with self-styled detectives investigating who’s who in videos and photos posted from the attack. Outing family members – either online or to authorities – has marked a new frontier of the rift Trumpism has created in the US.

Lopez said she was horrified but not surprised to see a loved one participate in the riot. Over the last four years she has watched helplessly as members of her family became increasingly entrenched in the world of hateful rightwing conspiracy theories."

Pushed to the edge by the Capitol riot, people are reporting their family and friends to the FBI

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2021/01/16/capitol-riot-family-fbi/

    excerpt:

"Leslie shared screenshots of text messages in which she shared her FBI tip “submission complete” page, and another friend recounted hearing that Leslie had reported her mother.

Leslie and many others interviewed for this article spoke on the condition that their full name not be revealed, citing concerns about retaliation or further heightening tensions in their families.

In relationships already strained or severed, last week’s violent spectacle of democracy under siege has pushed some people to take a drastic new step: warning law enforcement. Anguished Americans are turning in friends and family for their alleged involvement in the Capitol riots, contributing to more than 100,000 tips submitted to the FBI and playing a role in at least one high-profile arrest.

For months — sometimes years — the informants say they have watched helplessly as loved ones embraced far-right ideology and latched onto conspiracy theories, from QAnon to viral-video claims of a coronavirus “Plandemic.” Extremism has thrived in the Trump era and under pandemic lockdowns, experts say, with more people isolated at home and misinformation rampant online.

“Far-right extremism is not a small-fringe worldview, it’s not an insular cult that only reaches a few dozen or a few hundred people — it’s a wide-ranging worldview embedded in American society,” said Peter Simi, an associate professor of sociology at Chapman University who has studied far-right extremist groups and violence for more than 20 years."

    excerpt:

"Waking up from a nap last Wednesday to see the Capitol breach on TV, Robyn Sweet said, she had a feeling that her father, Douglas Sweet, was there. She knew he went to the 2017 “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, she said, and she has listened to him spout QAnon conspiracy theories, speaking of child pedophile rings and a chemical compound supposedly extracted from young captives’ blood.

By the time family located him, Robyn said, her father was already arrested. She says she would not have contacted law enforcement anyway, since she does not believe her father harmed anyone. But she says she has heard from a large community of people who are also mourning their own relatives’ descent into conspiracy — and who say that if they were in her shoes, they would report.

“I have had a lot of people around the world reaching out to me and saying they feel like they’ve lost their parents to this radical Trumpism,” she said. “They feel like they don’t have a family anymore.”"

There is nothing, absolutely nothing whatsoever, surprising about fucking chickens! Unless you blow Donald Ducks head off or strip him naked on live TV his followers will continue to insist he is their rooster. A linguistic analysis has recently shown that both Donald Duck and Biden use very similar language, because they are both spouting rhetoric that the chickens eat up like corn. Actually being able to dissect what people are saying mathematically brings all their fucking bullshit into focus.

Trump staff reportedly walked away from room with Giuliani spouting outlandish truther narratives about the election.

Trump aides were forced to flee Giuliani after he showed up daily to spout 'deep state' election tales: report

    excerpt:

"A bizarre routine set in," Swan explained. "These meetings would begin with official staff raising plausible legal strategies. Then Giuliani and Powell, a lawyer with a history of floating 'deep state' conspiracy theories, would take over, spewing wild allegations of a centralized plot by Democrats — and in Powell's view, international communists — to steal the election. Bewildered campaign aides would look around the table at one another, silently asking what the hell was going on. One would invariably shuffle out of the room, followed by another a few minutes later. Then another. Then another. The professional staff would reconvene in Stepien's office, about 20 yards down the hall."

The report goes on to note that the former New York City mayor would notice that the room had emptied and was forced to go see where everybody was,

"Eventually, Giuliani would realize that he and his crew were alone in the conference room. He'd walk down the hall and knock on the glass outside Stepien's office, where about eight aides had squeezed onto a pair of couches. 'You guys, where did you go?' Giuliani would say. "This is serious!'" the Axios report states.

If it wasn't Giuliani's absurd conspiracy narratives that caused people to leave the room, it may have been his problem with flatulence.

Academics can kiss my ass, and beg for seconds. They've known for half a century that their own teachers cannot teach a child how to use a fucking dictionary and a quarter of their students still insist the sun revolves around the earth. I did not spend 15 fucking years writing my book to flatter them, and they will live to regret what they have done to millions of children. Donald Duck and their other abject failures are explored extensively.

Another premise for an SNL sketch.

People already saw how Giuliani acted in public during a hearing about alleged election fraud at the state legislature in MI along with his prize witness who sounded like she was drunk. She claimed illegal ballots for Biden were smuggled into the convention center using a food truck.
