No 'Silver Lining': Trump Faces Voter Backlash Amid Crises There are new signs among battleground state voters that President Trump’s unsteady leadership over the course of dual national crises has alienated supporters and energized adversaries. By Associated Press, Wire Service Content June 6, 2020 https://www.usnews.com/news/politic...lining-trump-faces-voter-backlash-amid-crises excerpt: "Then the pandemic hit and Lund lost his restaurant job. A processing backlog meant he went two months without unemployment benefits. He later watched with dismay Trump's hard-line response to the police killing of George Floyd and the civil unrest that followed. Lund, who is white, now plans to vote a straight Democratic ticket and rejects any effort by Trump to put a “silver lining” on the nation's pain. “The people living the economic reality of what’s soon to be a recession, it’s a very different set of numbers,” Lund said. “It’s almost, in a sense, disrespectful to try and put a positive spin on where we are as a nation right now.” That's a stinging warning sign for Trump in a state that's crucial to his bid to keep the White House. Though the president would rather voters focus on an unemployment situation that's less catastrophic than some economists predicted, Trump's whipsaw ways are colliding with a pandemic and civil unrest of a scale the country has not seen since the 1960s. With five months until the election, Trump has time to solidify his standing. But some Republicans fear voters are simply worn out by Trump."
When faced with a problem at the White House, the Trump was quick to build a border wall around it to try to save his own rear end. When the U.S. was faced with the threat of the coronavirus, Trump did nothing and on March 10 said, "Just stay calm. It will go away."
People, people, people, the new fence is not to stop people getting IN, its to stop hephatrump getting out and opening his gob once again and wreaking more damage. Just wait till November and he can be given the official 'order of the boot' !!!
WAIT, the SS ? haha holy shit ! do you have Gestapo too ? Meanwhile, in China, they publish stuff like this Great assist from the USA to a Chinese regime that right now is being accused of racism against black people.
Really, so even before Donald became President you think the US was the world's moral leader? Charlie Sheen, Harvey Weinstein, Spray cheese in a can
The problem with trump is not what most think , problem is his EXTREME narcissism and the fact that he cant admit wrong the two combined are just nasty BUT the fact is he got the economy going and has done some fair to decent things with trade imbalance , like it or not he made a good CEO with those qualities is it presidential NOPE , he also has an amazing read on how to use the media and keep his base more then happy he is the epitomy of "the cult of personality" and as fervent as his supporters are his detractors are just as bad he could stand on the corner handing out $100 bills and they would complain it wasnt enough or some such, he is a very polarizing individual
You let the left run wild and you get what happened over the last two weeks, time for the Donald to reign it in, let everyone get back to business
It appears we may. Much like the Sturmabteilung. Trump deployed unidentified men against the protestors in Washington D.C. They wore riot gear but no insignias to identify who they were or what why they were in the streets.
Or someone just used that one photo from side on to create a fake story ....bur you already know that, which is why you didnt provide a link
The "fact" is he got the economy going? Not a "fact", just a questionable opinion. He goosed the economy with his tax cuts for the rich, at the expense of a rising debt and uncertainty down the road about the viability of programs like Social Security. Donald Trump’s Economic Record Isn’t What He Says It Is | Washington Monthly Fact check: How Trump's economy compares to Obama's - CNNPolitics https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2019/08/20/trump-v-obama-economy-charts/ The gap between richest and poorest households is growing, the number of Americans without health insurance continues to climb, and the fourth quarter GDP growth rate (2.1%) in 2019 was lower than the growth rate before the tax cut was passed in 2017 and the average of Obama’s second term (2.4 percent)--not the "four, five, or even six percent" that Trump promised. Nor is there evidence that what gains we might have made were a result of Trump. That would be to commit the fallacy of post hoc, ergo propter hoc.Besides, if we credit him with a good economy earlier, we must blame him for the awful economy now, which is at least partly owing to his mishandling of the Covid-19 crisis. Any CEO who bungled the job that badly would surely have been removed. I certainly agree he has "an amazing read on how to use the media and keep his base more then happy". He is a world class demagogue who is a major threat to our democracy, which we'd be fools to sell for a mess of pottage.Unlike other demagogues though, he pitches his appeals mainly to his base, with divisive rhetoric. He is not a CEO. He is the President of the United States, and his job is to unite us, not divide us for the sake of electoral politics. He has never commanded majority support and has consistently had majority disapproval of his running of the country. Admittedly I'd complain if he were standing on the corner handing out $100 bills, especially if they came from the U.S. Treasury, because he'd be buying votes. Roman politicians were good at that, too, but Caesarism has no place in this country.
