I keep hearing things about it. I'm not planning on going to it. Just heard about it from others. Is it true what goes on there? Or is it all a hoax? People have claimed many scary things. So I'd thought to ask. A few even mentioned, that the people holding the site work for the government.
I don't know what all you heard goes on there but drugs, weapons and money laundering are all supposedly accessible. The only one I can vouch for is drugs. The military developed the technology for it I believe but I don't think they are involved in these underground markets.
No nothing like that, I checked the site today and they've actually really limited their weapons selection. It's basically just tazers now.
It's true the technology was invented by the American military. The purpose was to send encrypted communications during a nuclear war.This is why it's so hard to crack TOR and PGP. Of course the goverment wants you to think it's easy and anything made with a computer can be broken with it. A drug sale site can and has been taken over by police. But this is why you encrypt all your info. Their goal is to find your name and address but control of a site does not give that if you encrypt. There was also a major operation to take down child porn sites a few months ago. You can find RPG and other heavy arms but it's not likely to be on a reddit site. Those are mostly drug sales and the sites I have seen don't really allow weapon and child porn just weed and LSD. I am thankful for that but there is a market for anything. People are buying more then weed.
There's a lot of drugs on there but I have yet to see PCP. One I go to even has a PCP section but all they have there are analogues and other dissociatives.
the last is what i would expect, fbi, dea, or something of the sort, like they did with that kitty pr0n entrapment site. and no i don't support abusing or exploiting live humans or any other living thing, but made up stories and cartoons, can be wish fulfillment fantasy, while doing nothing of the sort.
