Just got back from it. I think I'll have to rent it when it comes out, because I was too distracted with all the freaking people, and having a 300 lb man hold all his weight on my knees, via leaning back onto his chair directly on me. But yeah, the joker was freakin, I dunno, NUTS.
Heath stole the show as Joker like ive never seen before. Great movie i saw it at 4:10 and it was full and even the 3:25 showing was sold out on the first day.
i can't WAIT to see it. i hated batman as a kid, but i LOVED batman begins, and i'm way psyched to see heath ledger in this role. the man was always a brilliant actor... just amazing, in pretty much every role i ever saw him in. and i respect how he chose such varied and interesting roles, not just blockbusters. that being said, i'm gonna wait a while. i'm not interested in seeing a movie when the theater's full. just not my cup of tea.
I just replied to Shale's review in New Movies about this. I've never seen Ledger in anything before...just not a huge movie buff. His performance as the Joker makes me want to rent everything he's ever done though. The hype isn't just hype for this one. It's all it's been said to be and then some.
best movie evaR? it's the most highly rated movie on imdb, beating out the godfather. and anarchy will prevail....
wow... just saw it... amazing! Heath Ledger definitely just elevated himself to the level of a rockstar martyr. What he and everyone who was apart of this movie did is just incredible. Finally the Batman story has been brought to justice and I'm more than glad they didn't skip out on the chilling reality within Gotham and our own society. i've been extremely whoa-ed.
This is the first movie that I've payed to see in at least three months, and it was AMAZING. I love dark movies so this fit perfectly. I find it irritating when movies shy away from death and violence, but this didn't at all. It was psychological, dark and best of all, it had what most movies coming out lack; DEPTH. And a whole lot of twists. I got out of the theatre and couldn't believe that I'd just sat through a 2 and a half hour long flick. Totally lives up to the hype. Well worth whatever outrageous price your cinema charges for it. Just get there with some extra time to get good seats because the shows were packed.
Y'know, I bought mine online too and that never occurred to me. Son of a bitch! Oh well...it was still worth the $21.50 I paid for two.
out of curiosity, how many people who have seen this (granted, the percent in this thread will be higher, as I suppose internet forums have more cb nerds) have actually read a batman comic....
as a kid, batman was actually the only comic i cared about. i even had the action figures... my brother would wear his batman cape and a top hat everywhere.
Fuck Batman Begins, and fuck this. I'm boycotting. And I understand I'm probably the only one..... I don't care.
