what they dont tell though, is that LSD was often put on Syd Barrett's sugar cubes

 

He was a psycho we lived a short life. Syd Barrett died in 1970, then he lived a recluse life as Roger...

He wasn't a messiah or anything more...Just a sad old man who ruined his life.

 

i disagree. sure syd changed his name back to roger but he was still living. the fact of the matter is thhat no body except his family knows alot about him. its bold to say anything about him because you don't really know anything about his life after his star days. I could see why he'd avoid people...everyone wanted a peice of what he used to be and he didn't want thaty anymore.if people idolized the man, that means that they'd respect him too, but going against his wishes delibratly, and knowing that i could possibly hurt him is not respecting him . so why would you want to be in that situation? syd did what any normal person would do but his storey is just magnified because of all the rumors about his life. I love Syd Barrett , what he did when he was a young man, and thats what i'll remember him by, not all the madness of the media.

 

Albeit, he had a huge breakdwon due to drugs...I'm not anti-drugs, quite the contrary, but he was a sad old man ruined his own life due to drugs.

 

I don't think his life was ruined due to drugs . idon't think his life was ruined at all. he apperantly had a hard time at first but as he grew older, i doubt he was haunted by it everyday. his sister said he was very much into art and gardening and normal old man type things, no big deal. it's not like he hid in his house for 30 years. he was out all the time according to his sister, rosemary

 

Yes, I'm sure the constant times his fans tried stalking him and bothering him it didn't haunt him at all. How can you presume something like that just to make yourself feel better?

He was an old man that wanted to be forgotten as Syd Barrett from Pink Floyd. I'm sure he didn't want people thinking him as a genius and finding out everything about his life. Like what his sisters name was.

And I'm sure he would love this forum and thread about him.

 

is hard to swallow that if prince williams farted a pink color fart we would know about it but yet this guy was in a total darkness? . my theory is either he actually hid 30 years around his home period. and this home must be a away from the main road by quite a pace in some rural area of england and those near him where he lived are either fanatical fans who respected him and protect him from cameras and interviews .

 

yah, your right, he wouldn't. he definitly wouldn't want this to be happening. i'll stop because this isn't what i want either.
