I was curious to know if there are others on Hip that use, collect, study, program , restore or repair Commodore machines and peripherals, specially the immortal, legendary C-64. Which, incidentally, on august next year will celebrate its 40th anniversary and still enjoys a huge fanbase and a niche market of new peripherals (like the awesome 1541-Ultimate cartridge), new games some of which truly impressive, not to mention an "ancient and noble" demo scene. Some people even got to the point of actually building and selling new 64 motherboards, albeit with a few necessary changes like integrating some chips, removing the RF video output and adding HDMI instead. Because those boards are real hardware and not some crappy emulator running on a mini pc they need a few original vintage MOS chips to be mounted like the VIC, SID and MOS 6510 cpu. This thread is for all who want to share knowledge and opinions or ask questions on both hardware and software. Casual chat on the topic is also good fun. I'll post now and then something to probe for any interest on HF about this dinosaur that stubbornly keeps stomping its way well into the 21th century. For now, have a demo from 2021 !
