Listening to a re-run of "Modern Family"...hopefully the episode after this one will be new to me. I'll watch it anyway though. :)

We had a daschund when I was growing up. Cindy....short for Cinnamon. She would bark like mad all the time. She eventually went totally blind from eating cat feces :yikes: . It didn't affect her in any other way but she had a little difficulty getting around the house, which I'm thinking could be expected from a blind dog....Mama took her to the vet because Cindy was having trouble going up and down the steps, as in she was hesitant. The vet said "Mam, there is nothing wrong with her legs, she is blind."

Mama says "BLIND! What would cause that?" The vet said it seemed her blindness was caused by her eating a toxic substance...Mama thinks and says "Oh no...she follows those cats around the yard all the time". Dumbass vet says "Oh, that's good exercise." Mama replies "Oh, you don't understand. Cindy eats the cat's poop when she gets there before we can stop her". Vet says "Well, that could definitely be what did it." :dizzy2:

Before she went blind, her little short legs could run like the wind even when she was so fat her stomach lacked maybe 1/4" touching the ground.

Dogs eating crap is pretty common. There is a spay you can get that is supposed to help. I've never had a pet that did it but I worked at an animal shelter and I saw it often. It was a big strike against the dog getting a home because people find it gross and iritiating.

Did some painting up under the eaves where the arbor/pergola/thingy is going to be... there was some fresh wood that didn't match the original dark brown finish and the remains of a huge yellowjacket nest that needed to be covered before I build the structure. That long defunct yellowjacket nest was one of those nightmare nests that fill half an attic or some shyt... The eaves were boxed in above the alcove I removed, about 3 feet by 4 feet by 6 feet... The nest almost filled that area. Don't know when it was killed off but it had been awhile. Still, if not sanded off and painted over they will come back and think it's a usable spot. Same area where I had to kill off a much smaller nest before I started this project... That one was down around ground level though, not up above.

It's raining off and on today, so I was painting in the rain...

Concrete set overnight, so I'm almost ready to go... Staining the cross-brace pieces in the garage today. When they are done it's assembly time... Weather dependent.
