this sounds like fun. hadn't herd of this one. i can imagine several reasonable ways in which this can happen. spirit humor and particularly aggressive plant life both come to mind as well. and of course, sentient hoses cringing from being mishandled. i haven't actually seen one doing this (or have i?), but i have known when they haven't been used in while this tends to happen. humorous horror stories or horrible humor stories could be base on this idea.
