LOL--I dunno--I have seen some people wear swim suits under their clothes and take off everythign but the swim suit and stand on the scale to weigh in, and I have seen a man take his shirt off....believe me you don't want ANYTHING extra to affect your weigh in...the most I ever did was take off all of my jewelery...LOL!

oh i guess that makes sense if you start off with very little clothing you should always weigh in with little clothing... it just seems kinda embarassing... i mean a lot of them said they were ashamed of their weight but not of being on national television shirtless... :) i guess i don't know either!

Definitely seems embarassing to be standing with half your clothes off on national television, but honestly, they are there workingout, struggling to breathe, and everything else that they do on that show, I guess standing on the scale with very little clothes on isn't much worse...I know that I would have a hard time doing it, but then again...they ALL have to weigh in like that, so at least I know I couldnt look much worse. I guess it would be hard to know what you would and wouldn't do without being put in that position. I think I more than likely would if everyone around me were too, and they looked just as bad. :)

Just how much more humiliated could they be without a shirt on.

I mean anyone whose that fat should feel embarrassed to be seen in public

yikes... no, feeling humiliated going out in public is counterproductive.... it's going to keep the person inside, getting no excercise, and eating their low self esteem into a deeper pit. ppl who are too embarrassed to walk into a gym don't go.

i also wonder about the extreme weight loss they do each week. i always read 2 lbs a week is ideal, any more than that is bad... but at such a large starting weight is 4-10? lbs healthy? i dunno...

true true.... i've seen a few more episodes and i think being half naked shows the audience how dramatic of a change is happening, or not happening, each week.... and they don't seem too humiliated doing it with everybody else, so cool.

    tigerlily,

No amount of diet and exercise is going to help these people.

For a permanent solution only gastric by-pass seems to offer any real hope :(
