Just started listening to a few Beatles songs for the first time in years, and now they're stuck in my head. They weren't history's most popular band for nothing. What are your favourite Beatles songs?

I dunno. i think it's one of the most depressing songs of all time. I think it's how he sings 'we would be so happy you and me' near the end. And the guitar from 2.38 - 2.41. i dunno

other than that, i am the walrus is near the top

Too many to name, really. I'll say that Sgt Pepper's is the favorite album, with Revolver just behind it. I've also thought Let it Be was a great album. And the early stuff was good, too.

    Yellow Submarine

Sgt Pepper's lonely hearts club band.

But then when John Lennon ditched the rest of the group:

    Imagine
    Instant Karma
    Jealous Guy
    Starting over
So this is Xmas (War is over)

Never spent much time on them, kinda figured I'd hear plenty from others.

Songs that come to mind, Strawberry Fields and Nowhere Man.

they did have the luck of being able to do whatever they wanted and mostly being the first to do it ,
i find them amazing to notice how thier songs changed as they get older ,
i find thier songs very touching when i realise how old they were when they wrote each one ,
they become even better then , when listened to in that context
from young lads out for a shag , to the complexities of holdng down a realtionship
they were very open and allowed to be ,rather than being boxed into a certain type of song and audience

I agree, very interesting to see the change throughout their time as a band. I'm mainly a fan of their more psychedelic and Indian inspired music....

Abby Road and The White Album are two of my favorite albums of all time, but I love 99% of what the Beatles have done. What makes the Beatles great to me is the fact that when they died, they died. There's no reunion tour of them in the '70's doing Disco versions of "Yesterday" or anything like that. They were able to die a fairly peaceful death... musically speaking, anyway.

I've been listening to The White Album a lot lately. I really like Back In The USSR...

"Well those Ukraine girls really knock me out..." ;)
