  1. i don`t care for the lyrics. but here they are: in flames, trivium, dimmu borgir, children of bodom, at the gates.
albums i listen to: all except a couple of in flames. first two by trivium. two by dimmu borgir, one by children of bodom and three by at the gates.
sorry if this is pointless but i had to just say

Do you also listen to non-metal bands?
    Just curious.

Believe it or not, but I don't listen to any of those.

  5. Good list.
  6. Hi all

I'm new to this forum and this is my first post here.

My tastes fluctuate over time, so my playlist could be new stuff, old stuff or a mixture. The sounds I'm listening to at the moment are[in no particular order]:

    Slayer - South of Heaven
    Saint Vitus - Mournful Cries
    Candlemass - Nightfall, Ancient Dreams
    Down - II
    Mastodon - Blood Mountain
Strain - Strain [fantastic band from the UK, just released their debut album and are awesome... I've only recently tuned in to them]
  7. You don't listen to any non-metal bands, or you don't listen to any of the bands the original poster mentioned?

The last one-and-a-half years, probably around 50-60% of what I listen to is comprised of metal. Before that, it was more.

You can check my musical tastes in all detail here:

It's mostly atmospheric black and death-doom metal.

Enigmatic Void, do you listen to those bands and albums over and over again or is that just the top of your musical iceberg?
  8. nope. i only listen to what i listed. only like metal. rah
  9. So just those few bands? Doesn't that get awfully boring? You should branch out a bit, either within metal or outside it. If I only had 5 bands to listen to, I would kill myself.
  10. well firstly, i Only Like Metal. secondly.. i really like that music and don`t feel the need for more bands...
  11. Oh man, quite literally, I could probably list over 100 bands that I listen to, or have listened to, in various genres.

    Yeah man, same for me.

But as for Enigmatic i love your list, all those bands are amazing and some of my favorites. When i first started listening to metal Children Of Bodom are the ones who really got me into it.
  13. I'm always on the lookout for new kickass bands and at some periods I download more music than I have the time to listen to. Sometimes I have to weed out the lesser-liked albums from my harddisk to make room for new ones. And unless I'm sleeping, away or downloading porn which I do with Limewire instead, I always have soulseek racking in albums by the dozens and a download queue of 300+ items. I'm insatiable. My brother's like that too (but with suicidal black metal and gore-/porn-/cybergrind only - sicko). And my mom, but with movies instead of music. My dad is addicted to Red Alert 2 skirmish games, always as the Americans. He doesn't even really like it anymore but he just keeps on playing.

And of course, the best albums among those downloaded are bought at physical discovery.

Right now, I'm REALLY into folk metal. Korpiklaani (new album is sick!), Finntroll, and Eluveitie are a few. Actually, I'm positively hooked on Korpiklaani right now!

Other bands (as of right now): Aborted, Cannibal Corpse, Mors Principium Est, Dimmu (Stormblast and In Sorte Diaboli), and Nasum (my fav of all time).

I don't listen to anything except metal...unless Grindcore doesn't count.
