Does anyone like the Band? I have alot of their material, not relay their albums, but the box sets and some compilations. I really like them, I kinda grew up on them, one of those bands your parents played so much when you were little that when you grew up and the song came on the radio you knew all the words and you didnt know why. Levon Helm is a great drummer and an even better singer. The last Waltz, the Scorcese film is realy good you shoud see it, guest artists galore.
I like the Band. As I recall they had a place near Woodstock (before the festival) so they could get away from the heavy population. They were different and they recorded some of the best tunes of all time in my opinion. They also had some very talented musicians but had other problems in the group.

I too have become rather obsessed, and if you are, you MUST find a theater where they are playing Festival Express and go see, there is a sence in there where Rick Danko is tripping face and playing a song on an acoustic while sitting next to Janis Joplin, its some of the craziest footage I have ever seen. God I love the band, I have the Dylan and the band CD but I lost the first half of it(my favorite), Id love to burn it if anyone has it.
i love the band i think the last waltz is amazing and yeah so many great guests on that one (that would definatly be something to buy sometime as i keep on renting it & thats dumb when its so good.) the band is one of those bands that i don't actually remember getting into them cause their music was just always around, you know...its so classic.
To tell you te truth, th Band is another band tat my parents played a whole lot when I was really young, cause whe I got to high school i knew all the words to te album despite thinking I had never heard it before. Very weird. They are a fantastic band an d you all must go see Festival Express, I am thinking abou goingto see it again tonight.
