I was debating with myself whether or not to share this joke. But just to be clear, I share it with people who deal with these kinds of people. People with mental problems and disabilities. Because you know, laughter helps distance you from your problems.

Now, I really don't think this joke is that bad either. I was at a buffet we used to go to, about 20-25 years ago. You know at a couple of buffet restaurants we went to they went out of their way to employ people with mental problems and disabilities. I always thought that was very nice. They also tried to help them in whatever way they could. Like by briefly employing them so that they could get better government benefits. I almost did that at one point for my problems.

But anyways, at one of those buffets the female manager was verbally scolding a young female employee who I think might have been mentally disabled. The female employee had taken something she shouldn't have or taken time off she wasn't supposed to. And I could tell this time it was the last straw. So the manager was very angry, and scolding her a lot. But I could tell she was also a little scared of her at the same time. Maybe she had behavioral issues too, I'm not sure. But she still wanted to make it clear she did not approve of what she did.

But it kind of reminded me of that Halloween episode of the Simpsons. Treehouse of Horror VII originally aired October 27, 1996 on FOX. Bart and Lisa Simpson went into the attic, even though it was forbidden. (We later learn in that episode Bart's evil conjoined twin Hugo was kept up there.) And when the Simpson parents come home, Bart and Lisa run up to them and say, "Mom, Dad, we saw something in the attic!" When Marge Simpson hears that she replies "You went into the attic? I'm very disappointed and terrified." But I mean can you really be both when you are scolding someone? Disappointed and terrified?

I'm just saying that incident reminded me of that episode of the Simpsons. And I found it ironic for that reason.
