Tenderfoot

  1. Dammit!
I’ve been barefooting for years, although only recently continuously. After 4 days my soles have become tender (from so much ground contact). No blisters, breaks in skin, etc., just ouchy (an arcane medical term) tenderness. Anybody else? This, too, like the C-virus, shall pass...but when?

Just take your time. Don't give up! Don't give your feet too much of a beating right in the beginning, ease into it slowly by going barefoot over softer places first such as your backyard or the local park. Slowly work your way in.

  3. I appreciate your thought but as I said I’ve been barefooting for years so I wondered about the odd tenderness, but it could be just as you say. I’m NOT a tenderfoot but have tender feet. In other news today...

I bought a cool bicycle for exercise , barefoot peddles of coarse, a wile back and that caused me to do less miles walking barefoot every week and never got back to my peak foot toughness.

Now I get it. You over did it.

I have been caught out there went barefoot hiking in Laguna hills and forgot about the fact the farther you walk out the father you have to walk back.

Thank goodness for that painted white line on the side of the street thats smooth, I thought maybe I was going to have to tear up my T shirt and make some socks to walk in to get home.

A few days you should be better then before. I made gains from that hike even if it did hurt. I did have to take a break a few days.

Oh god I did that once in the Rocky Mountain foothills outside of Denver. I almost thought I was going to have to crawl back.

Gives real meaning to the saying "I went to far this time"

  11. Yeah, well, I managed 7 damn miles last week, all barefoot, so yeah, I fucked up. Took a 3-day break and I’m back to semi-normal. Thanks for your concern! Why don’t I take my own fuckin’ advice: take it S L O W

Finally some nice weather where I live! Raked some leaves and took a walk around the (long) block. Nice to start breaking in after getting soft feet over the winter.
