She's not a tarantula, she's an Orb-weaver, and she isn't my pet, but I let her live on my porch.

I have a curly hair tarantula, people are normally too scared of them even though they are the easiest pets to have and one of the most interesting. Molting is the best thing to see.

Have they ever bite you? I got bite by a rose hair and I got really sick. I felt like I had a really bad flu. They are very cool though.

Nope, never been bitten. What did you do that made it bite you? They aren't really aggressive. They usually try and run if there is a confrontation. They aren't poisonus but they do have a venom that slows you down, its used to put bugs in a comma so that it can suck their blood.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to surprise one like that. They are normally fine with being held for a little while just as long as you dont sneak up on them. How big was it? Mine has some pretty large fangs, that must have hurt.

It really hurt. I went to the ER. I do have a question for ya, can their hairs hurt a human? Would they throw them at a human?

Yeah they can hurt. They can flick them at people. It just sort of irritates the skin, but if they flick them in someones eye they can loose their sight.

I love tarantulas. They are such amazing creatures. I also think that molting is awsome, especially because my Chilean rose hair, Trinity, turns (mostly) bright pink. Even her fangs turn pink for a couple of days until they dry completely.
She is really docile....I've had her for almost four years, and she has never bit anyone. She did used to rub her hair off onto us before she became comfortable in our house, but, in any case, tarantulas don't actually flick the hair off their back; they use their back legs to rub it off, and since the hair is covered in barbs and breaks up really easy, it gets into the skin and becomes annoyingly itchy.
I would like to get a blood leg, a Mexican red knee, and a couple others, but I haven't had the money to get more tanks.

Yeah they are cool, I actually have two and thought about getting a third. But even though I got a tank for free I decided not to get another just because I don't want to be to spiders what old cat ladies are to cats. They are cool but Ive got enough. getting a trap door spider would be cool to, just to see them do their trap door thing.
