Taoism is the path of least resistance. It started (under that name) as an acient Chinese path, and the first text was the Tao Te Ching (http://www.edepot.com/tao4.html It is basically about surrendering to the currents that run through your life and fulfilling them. (www.yakrider.com isn't a bad source. The books I've read on it are [in this order "Tao Paths: Long Life" by Solala Towler, this is about Taoist health; "Tao Te Ching" by Lao Tzu translated by Steven Michell [hence posting that one, since it is my favorite and I am most biased towards that one] I however have a book of it, with annotations so that makes more sense than the unannoted version; and "The Handbook for the Urban Warrior: A spiritual survival guide" by The Barefoot Doctor, about the practical application of Taoism to your life.) I hope this helps. Sebbi
For a quick and basic understanding of it go for the Tao of Pooh. To put Taoism simply: Just go with it.
I've read the Tao Of Pooh and I agree - it is a good book to start with. The sequel to that is The Te Of Piglet - I recommend reading that as well.
