Has anyone here heard the "voice" in the mushroom experience? It said "hello" back to me once. It sounded like it was underwater and very far away. I'd taken larger doses prior, and felt like I had communicated with something, but i'd never talked to it before then. According to the study mushrooms "can engender a dialogue between the one who ingests them and a voice of unknown origin" in "better than a third of participants." Weird, huh?

    mushrooms speak.

you can speak back too by singing. if you look at the mushroom velada ceremony of the mazatec/nahuatl the common element is the songs. you have to sing to communicate with this mushroom in a way that is useful.

The voice is not of an unknown origin, You're talking to yourself. :)

The mushroom talks to your in many ways, most are beyond language. Terrence Mckenna was amazed at the fact that the mushroom could talk in everyday language though. Its hard to decipher whos actually doing the talking sometimes, the mushroom is talking to you, then your soul is talking to you, then god is talking to you, and then most the time its not anyone actually talking to you, its just your mind playing tricks.

I have had trips when i've gone into these trances, and literally something begins speaking through me. I become possessed and speak from the divine, I'll start telling my self things that I had no knowledge of before hand, just downloading the truth from the beyond. When this first occurred, it was a great turning point, I had realized something real had taken place. Something from outside entered me, my mind didn't create it, its here like i'm here. Now my trips are taken to a another level, because i've realized there is a higher presence that can be reached.

this is a pretty epic thread and yes McKenna reffered to it as "the Logos" this entity, this alien phantom that would speak to you. im planning on eating some today, only my second time :D

Is it the mushroom that talks to you, or is it your own mind influenced by the active chemicals? If you extracted the active chemicals and ate the mushrooms would they still be speaking to you? If you ate the extracted active chemicals alone would they speak to you?

Its a different level of consciousness brought on by the active chemicals. Every thing that was possible before ingestion is possible after ingestion, and nothing more.

Well with ayahausca if mix up plants you get different trips, even when they have the same active ingredients. They say a real ayahuasca trip is on with the B. Caapi vine, that vine will give you more insight then the rest of the plants used for it. So I guess the actual plant or fungus has something to do with it.

That would be an interesting tea, the guidance of the caapi and the mushrooms, thats a strong clash.

I have had Caapi and P. Viridis ready to make ayahausca for about 6 months now. There is forever an authority figure at my house, and I can find nowhere else to do it. I'm hoping for one solid weekend of alone time.

It's usually pretty hard for me to differentiate between the mushrooms "voice" and my own inner voice when I trip. The mushroom grabs hold of my inner voice, and tells/shows me bizarre and unpredictable things.

I can see why it is associated with "elves" "fairies" "gnomes" and "aliens". I always have the feeling when I take mushrooms that something is looking back at me... with trillions of beady little black eyes.
