in mid-March...in boston its pretty damn chilly in the water. its about 66 right now outside, so its nice. took my dog down to the beach and i ended up jumping in the water haha
I wonder what the temp of the water is at the moment? The water in Lake Erie is 32 degrees today. Brrr!
well, i was throwing tennis ball in the water, so he was the first one in. then he kept hounding me to jump in with him its around 40 in the water right now
Man, I loved swimming in the Gulf...it was like bath water! Lake Erie almost always feels cold to me, even in late August.
i cant' wait till it warms up some...it really wasn't bad in the water, but once ya got out...thats when it hit ya
I miss the warm water in Florida. We went surfing almost every week whether it was like a lake or 12 foot sets were peeling in from a coming hurricane. When it's 80 degrees in the water at New Smyrna, you'd have to get out to cool off. We once went out off Daytona when the water temp was 49 in January. Brrr!
The only way I'd live in Florida again would be right on the beach. Otherwise it's just too damn sweaty, bugridden, and crowded for me.
Yes, that's the only way to go. Stay on the beach! Except, then you have to worry about the hurricanes. Last time we went to Florida we rented a house right on the beach of Don Pedro island. It was gorgeous. We were beach bums the whole week.
I own thirty acres in the panhandle left to me by my dad. Don't know what I'll do with it, but the taxes are only 40 buck a year since it has a large pond and so is considered agricultural.
We rent a cottage right on the lake every summer. I rarely swim though, it's just too dang cold in there for me to really enjoy it. Sometimes I'll get the nerve to get in, but for the most part I just like to sit on the beach in the sun and watch the water.
