I am taking part in a Dutch holiday tradition called Surprise. My brother-in-law does it every year, and this year is the first time I will do it, so I'm kinda nervous. If anyone has any tips, or can tell me what your experiences have been like, I'd love it!

You mean for December 5th? Sinterklaas?

It's a real family tradition type of thing ... some families create all-out masterpieces, others barely do a thing but still call it a surprise. Try finding out how past 5th decembers have been in terms of surprises ... it's a lovely tradition although I haven't created a surprise myself in many years :)

Bucket of shit sounds like a bunch of BS to me. It really is one pathetic tradition, I agree. It's cultural heritage though ... so I guess we should try cherishing it. ;)

That's very interesting about the bucket of shit. Reminds me of when I was a little kid and my mom told me if I was a bad little girl, Santa Clause would put dog poop in my stocking!
