Surfing in the winter??

Okay, my family and I were talking about going to southren california this weekend to go surfing! We were planning to go to beaches in L.A and San Diego. But now my dad is all "The water is gonna be sooo cold" but, you can just wear a wetsuit, right? I mean, people go surfing during the winter, right? Actualy, its still fall! When I visisted last summer, the water was kinda cold, but I still just wore my swimsuit and got used to it! But yea, so it cant be that cold with a wetsuit on, right? THANKS!

 

haha, Im scared of sharks, when i was younger, I thought they were made up

 

I'm in North Carolina and live coastal. They surf here all year...yup in a wetsuit.

 

I'm going to learn how to surf next summer...I'm so gonna make an ass out of myself

Im in San Diego. Water is around 62 degrees. Just wear a 3/2 wetsuit and you'll be fine. Winter is by far the best time to surf in SoCal, best waves, smallest crouds. Once the water gets below 60 booties are nice. Don't worry about sharks in SD, it only gets sharky in like Santa Barbara.
