The Supreme Court has ruled that "material support" of terrorist organizations doesn't necessarily have to be actual material support like giving arms or money, or providing safe housing or training. They said that trying to get a terror organization to try to begin to act peaceful, such as as encouraging Hamas to adopt a "Food not Bombs" approach to the Palestine-Israel conflict, can be labeled "terror support" even though you are trying to effect a positive change. Basically, your opinion can now be considered "material support", such as criticizing the gov't about its anti-terror efforts or possibly even sympathizing with the terrorists. So be careful about what you say in that letter to the editor or what is on your picket sign at an anti-war rally. And if you have a bin Laden picture in your home, make damn sure it's on a dartboard or has crosshairs centered between his eyes with a saying like "I'd fly 10,000 miles to smoke a camel" underneath it. It's the "Alien and Sedition Acts" all over again.
