i figure you stoners should be aware of this ruling as your right to unreasonable search has just been thrown out the window.

USAToday-U.S. Supreme Court says passenger can be frisked

the supreme court of the united states made this ruling against the united states constitution therefore it applies to all 50 states...
the case was out of arizona but when they ruled it to be legal it sets precedent for other states to do it as well.

    damn. we just got fucked.

"The Supreme Court ruled Monday that police officers have leeway to frisk a passenger in a car stopped for a traffic violation even if nothing indicates the passenger has committed a crime or is about to do so."

this is going to be SO easy for cops to abuse. they could make anything up and would probably get away with it.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that the constitution is now less valuable than the paper I use to wipe my ass with. There have been numerous instances as of recent where laws that should be deemed unconstitutional are ignored. Just look at how taxes are set up for example.

change is good, but paper money is better

i had a history teacher who encouraged us to go out and buy the pocket constitution (for a whopping $2, so no big deal) and he said if you carry it with you you will see how much it protects you. when it rains, you can hold it over your head, if theres a shooter you can hold it up and not deflect a bullet.
we the people allowed ourselves to be taken over, our money is made of paper, basic skills are long forgotten, and when the shit hits the fan most of america will die.
maybe its just my mood today. but we don't have rights anyway, we have privileges. thats what George Carlin said. if they were rights everyone (in the world) would have them, and they wouldn't be able to be taken away.

i believe i have the right to do whatever i feel like doing.. you know why? because i do.. and i have yet to be told not to... therefor what does the constitution matter? people try to hide behind rights when they feel they have something to hide

You're right since he didn't take any action on marijuana in his first week he's a failure. It is the most pressing issues facing him and the nation. Never mind the fact that a law would come from the legislative branch.

    Ditto.

The worst part is, if you have a record with the cops then they can stop you for "failing to use a turn signal", and then searching you for "probable cause".

And probs Ginsberg too, thennn hopefully balance will be shifted a bit.

I'm sure those two will leave/die during Obama's time in office.

If you think about all there doing is giving the cops the right to search for illegal things, I know it's complete bullshit just like all you guys do.

But the things we do are illegal, just gotta be extra careful now.
