Just joined and this is my first post. I want to make it clear that we need to support our troops and soldiers overseas that are fighting for freedom. I just retired from the Armys 25th Infantry with combat in Iraq in the first Gulf War and saw action in Sadr City last year. Those insurgents are vicious and murder there own women and children and we are defeating them at every turn. They are not for freedom and want all westerners to die period in the name of allah. I hope you will all pray for the safety of our troops and their sacrifices they are making.

    Thanks

I think it is because you are in random thoughts. It is your first post.
People are not trusting. You have no reason to lie. Neither do you have any reason to tell the truth.

Are you for the proposed new GI Bill that Bush and McCain are both against? To me passing that would support our troops more than complaining about and demonizing one's enemy. Where do you stand on the private contractors that are fighting over there with immunity from prosecution? Shouldn't they be held to the same standards as the GIs?

I think your post is more about demonizing the enemy than supporting the troops.

supporting our troups means supporting them comming home alive, and getting out of the fuckin military
i support the disbanding of all military everywhere

i support zero military funding and if ppl wish to go on killing eachotherr then they should do so without pay or compensation of any kind

i support no more kids being sent to theyre deaths to deffend the illusion of freedom...

i support true freedom..freedom from the oppression of governments and religiuons.. freedom from borders from seperation and freedom from the need to fight

you support the us versus them mentality that causes wars causes killing and yes supports the death of soldiers

there is no enemy unless you create enemies

quickest way to create enemies is to invade a country and start killing people

so should we go on supporting the killing of innocent yet nieve teen agers who are dumb enough to risk theyre lives by joining your suicidal troops?

I don't think you'll find many people on the forum who don't care about U.S. soldiers. But you will find people who take issue with how government leaders use those same soldiers to achieve political ends, and to scare the population, and to demonize "foreigners," and to continually foster the blind jingoism that makes the U.S. so despised around the world.

I feel for the troops, because most of them know they are being used and that their superiors don't give a damn about them.

On CNN last night they pointed out that the two presidential candidates who received the most primary votes from military personnel were Barack Obama and (get this), RON PAUL. The two most anti-war candidates.

These military people are not dumb, folks. But they are loyal, and it's not until they get into that private voting booth that they lose the fear of expressing their true feelings.

One time soon the idea of "supporting the troops" will not be so confused with loving war. Today is not that time, unfortunately.

Support our troops, end the illegal, imoral occupation. Jail Bush the drunken liar and jail Chenney the money grabbing war criminal.
Now that my freinds is supporting our troops.
Invading a sovereign nation under a pack of lies for the benefit of Haliberton and big oil, is not only belittling our troops, it's outright murder and treason and anyone who condones it should be behind bars.

I support President Bush in the Afgan and Iraq campaign. The Iraq invasion needed to be done to rid them of a tyrant who murdered his own people and I was proud to be a part of the invasion. People should stand behind President Bush on his War on Terrorism. Its better to fight them on their turf than ours. I dont think people fully understand the ramifications of the situation. The military fully supports the president and carrys out his orders with no complaints. I still have friends there who want to fight for the Iraqis freedom and democracy but the media is trying to turn this war upside down using false propaganda. They know that it is worth the sacrifice as well as I. Actually things are looking good in Iraq from a first hand view that people dont see in America. I fully believe we need to keep a presence in Iraq for the long term to keep the Iranians at bay. The weapons being used against our troops are from them. That is why a majority of the troops are voting for McCain to continue to keep a presence there.

you are a fucking tool, youve just repeated what every pro war capitalist fuck propogates to sell this war. are you fucking kidding me? you think your fighting for freedom? you must have gotten shrapnel to the head because your fighting for imperialist control of a foreign civilization. the United states is an EMPIRE not a "democracy". ( i doubt you even know what democracy actually is) if you think the US represents freedom so much then why do we go about "spreading democracy" by killing and destroying foreign countries. why is america slowly making its way towards a full fledged fascist police state? shit, you need to get all that ruling class propoganda out of your head, and start fighting against the government that is currently enslaving you, not for it.

exactly my point, the United states is guilty of this shit in everywar they take part in. the US military should be compared to Nazi germany, and post-Lenin Soviet Union. (in fact the US military would have a much higher murder count)

interesting,,thats why most of ron pauls(BTW, hes for GETTING OUT OF IRAQ!) campaign contributions came from the military,,because they plan on voting for mccain..

    http://thespinfactor.com/thetruth/2...h-one-third-of-military-contributions-for-q2/

Earlier, we reported military contributions among Republican presidential candidates place Ron Paul on top at 49.5%, with nearly as much as all Republicans combined.
A more complete compilation of statistics by Phreadom shows that presidential candidate Ron Paul leads all 2008 presidential candidates in military contributions from the US Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and war veterans. Presidential candidate Ron Paul leads with an impressive one-fourth* of all contributions this second quarter according to newly released data from the FEC.
Ron Paul currently has more cash-on-hand than John McCain this quarter, and this new information is indicative of Ron Paul’s success. It appears that our soldiers and war veterans have an affinity to, or inclination for Ron Paul’s non-intervention principle - defending our homeland and pursuing terrorists, but no nation-building.
    Military contributions for Q2
    Ron Paul 26.23%
    Barack Obama 24.02%
    John McCain 18.31%
    Hillary Clinton 11.08%

    http://thespinfactor.com/thetruth/2...tary-donations-among-republicans-again-in-q3/

It appears our military backs Ron Paul in the most important issue facing the United States: Terrorism and our foreign policy. For the second time in a row, Ron Paul receives more donations among Republicans. Data for Democrats is not yet available, but Ron Paul crushed Democrats in this statistic last quarter as well.

    yeah right.....

sorry to burst your bubble there soldier,,but id say your wrong on the majority supporting mccain..

if youll note MORE soldiers support obama than mccain..

    LMAO..

Military donations to anti-war candidates rise

By Brendan McGarry - Staff writer
    Posted : Tuesday May 6, 2008 7:00:29 EDT
Republicans receive the largest slice of presidential campaign contributions made by military members and their spouses, but leading anti-war candidates are getting a substantial cut, too, according to an independent analysis of political contributions.
From January 2007 through March of this year, service members or civilian employees of the military donated at least $766,000 to presidential candidates, according to data made available April 20 and provided by the Center for Responsive Politics, a nonprofit research group in Washington.
The analysis included donations of at least $200 made by individuals who listed their employer as one of the four branches of the military — Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps — or the Coast Guard, National Guard, Army Air Force Exchange Service, armed forces or military.
These donors gave the largest amounts to Rep. Ron Paul, the long-shot Republican candidate from Texas who has acknowledged defeat in the nomination process but continues to campaign, and Sen. Barack Obama, the Democrat from Illinois.
During the reporting period, Paul — a former Air Force surgeon who broke with his party to vote against the Iraq war — received the most military contributions, with $201,271.
That’s significantly more than the presumptive Republican nominee, Sen. John McCain from Arizona, who received $132,133 from military donors, according to CRP.
“I think that our fighting men and women want to protect America, defend our Constitution and defend our borders,” said Jesse Benton, a spokesman for Rep. Paul’s campaign. “I think they’re sick and tired of being sent overseas on these police actions and getting caught in the middle of these civil wars, and want someone like Ron Paul speaking sense.
“They signed up to defend our country, not police the world,” Benton said, “and I think they’re hungry for leaders who do that.”
Obama, meanwhile, whose opposition to invading Iraq has been a centerpiece of his campaign, has received $178,456 in military contributions, compared to Sen. Hillary Clinton’s $85,000, the analysis shows.
“To see two anti-war candidates getting more money from the people fighting the war or providing support for the war effort was surprising to us,” said Massie Ritsch, communications director for the Center for Responsive Politics.
However, the donations cannot be considered representative of military employees’ political preferences as a whole because the analysis does not include donations of less than $200, the point at which campaign finance law requires campaigns to disclose the name of a donor and contribution amount. Thus, individuals who give less than $200 aren’t counted.
“The picture could be completely different if you were able to look at smaller donors,” Ritsch said. “You’re looking at a tiny slice of the military who have enough disposable income to donate to a candidate.”
Overall, military donors still favor Republicans to Democrats, 62 percent to 38 percent, according to CRP. But Ritsch said at the beginning of the war, three-quarters of military donors favored GOP candidates.
