Think you are off by like 40 years

First superman movies were in the 1940s

    Always the consummate asshole.

I meant Richard Donner's Superman with Christopher Reeve.

    And you know I did.

Exactly and both Superman (1978) and its sequel Superman II (1980) were exceptional

I was into reruns of the 1950s series as a kid, i thought that was pretty good at the time. Thats when Superman started for me

I saw those same reruns on local TV as well, but come on you know that 1978 movie reboot of the old TV series jump started the franchise.

You knew exactly what he meant, but you chose to be argumentative [IMG]

Ok, but he is actually 80

"Superman is a fictional superhero created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster. He first appeared in Action Comics #1, a comic book published on April 18, 1938"

Oh well 40 years later and the franchise is going strong.

Technically the movie opened on December 15, 1978 so we’re still two days out from the official 40th anniversary.

Still never quite understood why the villains chose to throw their gun at Superman after witnessing all 6 bullets bounce off his chest.

I wouldn't say the movie was a reboot of the TV series. It was just a new version of Superman.

    Official 40th anniversary today.
