I think its important that we dont fall for the bullshit about "its important who the US president is" It doesnt matter. We can all be certain of one thing. They will not give a shiny shit which country gets hurt in their persuit of glory and their profound love of wealth. They will not give a flying fuck about anything but making sure the war economy can sustain them through economic depression. Whoever gets in will have close armed forces and/or CIA links - of that you can be certain. so whats the point of even watching to see who wins. The world will benifit when the USA is destroyed and until that time I dont give a toss who is president
I'm wary about supporting either candidate (and I'm talking Democrats here, as naturally I would never want to see the Republicans in - McCain's probably the least horrific of them) because by the very nature of America's centre of political gravity, whoever wins will no doubt pursue policies with which I strongly disagree. I am taken by Obama's charisma and his optimistic message, but I've seen very little substance behind the style as yet. He talks of uniting America and healing old hurts, but the real damage by the Bush administration has been done on the global stage and in international relations. Could he help front a less beligerant American foreign policy? I find Clinton's whole approach very cynical, and whilst she is perhaps more concrete on one or two issues, I think she would be quite dry and more of the same. When Edwards was in the race, I definitely swung in his favour for being perhaps about as left as you can get in mainstream American politics. On balance, I'd say the least-bad possible outcome might be an Obama victory with Edwards as his running mate. But that's the trouble with American politics for me, I can only talk in terms of least bad. Given it's influence in the world and the dominant ideas that govern it's political system, it's all, for me, an exercise in damage limitation....
American politics is pointless being over coveraged on Uk tv. I mean it don't affect us, but unfortunately the stars and stripes has managed to dominate Brit Tv. With currently only five channels, Super Tuesday got up my Northern line.

Unfortunately I don't have a massive satelite sticking out the side of my dwelling. I used to have Sky. But then thought, better of it. Better Freeview. Even on EuroNews, you get Americans parading about with long tall hats similar to Uncle Sam. You get little girls leading a pompous brass band, and then you get American politicians you never heard of in your life. American tv should stick to a minimum. There is already an American Diner on the old Kent Road. And a KFC. Run by Americans(Apparently).
