I am so incredibly wound up and nervous, but tired all at the same time so I don't know what to do with myself. I have to be moved to Oregon in less than a week and I am not even close to being ready. Panicking!

Maybe I should spend my time getting ready...

When you are nervous and stressed do you tend to work better or worse?

I work better when there is pressure. Not always smarter......;)

I am anal about lists, so I write the list out and get great satisfaction out of crossing off. Once I have a list it seems far more manageable and feels like it is getting accomplished. Works for me.

Try to find some time for fun as the move is going to be stressful and being alone will also be. :)

i work better under pressure, as long as it is still physically possible for me to complete the task at hand. if it gets to be too much to possibly handle, then i get pissed and start throwing things around and generally making my situation even worse.

I always work at my best under pressure, just got to try and remain calm and collected. That were the one hitter comes into play :D Helps maintain a positive attitude in the face of impending doom, everyone wonders how I can stay so composed :D Just try and multi task.

I hate moving. Such a pain.:(

I work very well under pressure. But if I work to hard and burn myself out, I start doing things like calling friends and giving things away, then donating.

Anything to get the job done.

Bet you will be happy when all of this is over.;)

  10. Yeah, me too, I'm one of those good under pressure type of peeps. I just instinctively order things in my head and get on with it. I have a daughter who "does lists"; drives me fucking crazy. Each to his own I suppose.

Moving does suck... but just to give another perspective...

At this time last year, we were packing up to move. We didn't have a place to move to yet, I was about to be fired from my job, and my wife was dying of cancer and getting down to her last few weeks. I'd be fired if I didn't come to work (ran out of PTO and unpaid Family Leave time), but I just couldn't leave her side. Just caring for her left me totally exhausted and lacking sleep and nearly unable to even think/function all the time. We spent every conscious moment together, but totally petrified in... terror.

If you're healthy, celebrate it, and get busy :)

As long as I'm NOwhere near PMS although I always have it on my most important or stressful days, I'm hoping you are hormonally balanced and everything goes smoothly

I am so NOT hormonally balanced! Of course... I always have my period right when it is most inconvenient.

That sounds like me when I was preparing to move. I think you should allow yourself to be nervous first of all. I know that sounds like...huh??....but seriously. If you feel bad for feeling nervous you will just feel worse. Then I think you should get going but make it fun. Maybe play some loud music while you pack or put on one of your favorite movies to have going in the background. Are there friends who could come over and help you out maybe?
