Sunoco owns "Energy Transfer Partners" the company building the pipeline in North Dakota. Donald Trump, as President, may find a way to overturn the decision to reroute that was made by the "Army Corps of Engineers". Had Hillary Clinton won the election, this would not be a possibility. If you voted for a third party, or not at all, because you are left-of-center and disliked Hillary, Sunoco surely loves you. You'll spend the next decade, or three, putting out twice the energy for half the gain, compared to what you would have had to expend had Hillary won. This is just a fact I point out. I'm not rubbing it in. "Though the Army’s decision calls for an environmental study of alternative routes, the Trump administration could ultimately decide to allow the original, contested route." New York Times, December 6, 2016.
The NYT is speculating without any basis. Nobody knows what Trump will do. He could just as easily pull out entirely, like the Navy did with Puerto Rico after decades of whining about Vieques. I have no doubt there's a spiteful side to him that will shock the right. In the meantime, the pollution risk is enhanced by using vehicles to move the oil instead of a jacketed pipeline. So much of the speculation about the evils of Trump seem more like the projection of butt-hurt reporters. Look how long they have been dreadfully wrong about the guy, especially the NYT. PS: Sunoco was the worst gas station in Schenectady.
I love Sunoco that they pulled the Marcus Hook refinery out of mothballs and back on line bringing jobs and a more stable fuel supply.
Sunoco fuels the NASCAR series. That's all I know... that's all that matters. without Sunoco some fool might think it's a good idea to go electric engines or something. Lemme tell ya, the day American Motorsport goes electric is the day that ALL Motorsport categories in the world die. It will be so sad.
American motorsports need to get with the program. Porsche, ferrari, and Mclaren are all building hybrid hypercars in preparation for a world without petroleum. Face it nothing lasts forever. Including fossil fuels like petroleum.
Oh blah. Hillary won 40% of the vote in my state. I voted for Jill Stein, who actually protested DAPL. She wasnt just there with a mindless statememt, she was actually physically there. She was arrested. She had .7% of the vote in my state. If all who voted for Jill voted for Hillary, Hillary would have 40.7% of the vote in my state. Not quite enough to give her the election, eh? Plus, i looked into Hillary's stance on DAPL before the election. It was lackluster. It lacked conviction, just like most everything about her. She didnt make a stand against the pipeline, at all. Do some fucking research. I voted for the only two candidates who came out strongly against DAPL, the other being Bernie Sanders (who I voted for in the primaries) . Yeah it sucks Trump will probably overturn the decision to halt construction. But give it up dude. Youre just plain wrong trying to blame it on third party voters.
If we're gonna play the blame game, we ALL should have voted for Stein. She physically protested the pipeline, dude. Why didnt you vote for her? . If you really, really wanted to play the blame game..i blame this on every left of center voter who didnt vote for Bernie in the primaries. We could have had a once in a lifetime president. One who took a real stand against DAPL. And we dont have him, and I will forever blame every Democrat who voted Hillary in the primaries. Probably until my dying day, because again he was a once in a lifetime candidate.
Formula One. Lol. Yeah come talk to me about motorsports when you learn that the same team winning week in and out gets boring. Then by all means, come and have a chat. All these sports car catagories are a joke anyway. European catagories, where "drivers are made" all play by political rules. What happens when they jump over to stock car racing? Nah, don't answer me. Nothing happens. That's what. Trialled & Proven.
This ain't about what you watch on TV Irm or if you like politics'n stuff. You said that "the day American Motorsport goes electric .... bblablabla". Sorry but F1 is where the big bucks are. And F1 doesn't give 2 fucks if Texas runs NASCAR on rollerblades.
Formula One will be electric before NASCAR. That's why I'm saying it'll be the end of Motorsport because if I know my Americans, they like their cars big and heavy and powerful, run by an engine. Not a battery. There's already a E1 category, winged cars like F1 that run on electric.... That being said, I haven't even seen 3rd, 4th or even 5th tier racing in America succumb to an electric motor. Is what Irm getting at.
E1 is just a side show, an extra. It's not going to replace the real thing anytime soon. Too many dead presidents invested.
Oh, well into the future perhaps. You know this "going green" sells to the General public. And it's the general public that kinda pay all the money for tickets and merchandise etc. ...
If only the motorsport used fossile fuels it would be great. As long as most of the world use it: very worthwile to think about means to get that amount of fossile fuel users down. This is nasty. I agree with the non voters. And technically you are right: Sunoco would appreciate that she or Stein didn't got a majority. Your conclusion is that more people should have voted for Clinton, my conclusion is that more people should have voted with their moral conscience and their own principles in mind and less with 'what will I lose if the other candidate wins'. The only reason a third party like the greens will remain marginal in your country is due to the mindset of the voting citizens.
