So you've felt the true beauty of those mountains. My first encounter with them was in the small town of Jasper in Alberta. It's absolutely amazing to see them, they're so close to you there.
You're making me pine for Vancouver! Except for the high cost of living, one thing I don't miss about it.
That is indeed my view. That barge on the right is going to shoot off fire works for 30 minutes this Saturday, marking the first night of the Celebration of Lights. Tis a good time of year, I tell ya. One of my favorite things to do on firework night is sit on my balcony and watch the crowds disperse after the show.
This little guy at the park was happy to get a peanut from me, then he kept coming back and begging for more. He was good at scrambling around and finding the nuts even if they landed a mile away from him (pitching isn't my forté). I couldn't manage to snap a photo of the begging, but this one was cute "Well, I'm waiting." And an heirloom plant I found in the yard, Rudbeckia laciniata 'Hortensia', a double coneflower. It makes a beautiful show. I'm going to have to get seeds from this one.
Modest Mouse show, I actually had a better seat than where I took this pic from but was hanging out with my friends for awhile.
