While I agree, McDonalds is bad.... I've never understand the argument that Walmart, McDonalds, etc. steal business. If they're cheaper and/or better, or people just prefer them, isn't that supply and demand? I've read so many articles about how Walmart and other big corporations steal business... why is it thought of as "bad", if that's what people want?

Old fashioned success is a good thing.CRIMINAL success is a BAD thing.Remember big business is alot different and worse now, than they used to be years ago.Walmart itself is worse than they were 10 years ago.Everything made in China etc. you know the deal.Corporations must be regulated very strictly, there must be strict laws saying what they can and cannot do.That does not happen in America 'anymore. For example drug commercials used to be banned, not any more. They are banned in Europe.Another recent trend,CEOs of companies making hundreds of millions of dollars only to advocate the hiring of illegal aliens and outsource jobs. Some cocaine pushers are 'successful' and make alot of money, are they good?

And Walmart and companies like them DO steal business from small mom and pop companies because they drive them out of business.Big chain companies are a big problem.I do not want to see a fucking Starbucks everywhere, and their coffee sucks too!

    We're onwed by big business.
International companies backed by the goverment are raping our limited sources everywhere.Leaving a trail of destruction behind.A big problem is we consume too much, our sources are getting more and more scarce and the demand by consumers is always on the rise.Companies have "sweat shops"in alot of countries.Indigenous people who once lived happiliy off the natural resources have no choice but to work as slave labor for them.Small companies can no longer survive.Major companies are so pushed and promoted.People blindly follow the trends of big companies, knowing not what they do.

WalMart/ McDonald's/ Home Depot/Other Corporation or Franchise competing with small business is like the the Red Sox playing a little league team.
the big dogs have the huge advantage of buying power.
The mom and pop are offering a niche, better first time jobs and probably have more connections to the community.

You are naive yet, my young apprentice. Consumers have no say in the matter. Walmart is a sign of the times. Standardization, as in limited variety. Centralization, as in buy it all in one locale. Authenticity, as in made in Asia. Identity, as in non-existent.

It's not a matter of supply and demand. Rather, greedy bureaucratic efficiency that consolidates the supply and demand into one entity. Leaving you no choice.
