Hey all. I just started suboxone yesterday. Been on a habit of vicodin, probably close to 15-25 10 mg's a day...all starting after a few DAMN kidney stones. I hate those things. I would have never known of pain killers if it hadn't been for those little ( and yes, LITTLE!!) devil stones.
Anyways, true need for strong pain medicine quickly turned into dependence, addiction, along with severe anxiety, which I was attempting to treat with all the vicodin. We all know it makes you feel better. and probably some depression, all stemming from I believe several events that have gone on in my life ( break-up,moving, new job, etc)
I feared a turning point coming soon about my vicodin use, and sure enough it came. God looks out for you when you won't look out after yourself...
I would really appreciate if y'all can talk to me about your subxone experiences..what you were on, how it worked, how you felt...the whole outcome, both good and bad things. true honesty here. because this is my life we are talking about. I won't mess it up entirely for the sake of my mom,dad..and especially my 2 AMAZING nephews [IMG]
Note on my dosage- I believe it is fairly small, I am supposed to take 2 of the lowest dosages once a day. 2mgs I believe. I took the first 2 in the office yesterday, and felt slightly better though not this dramatic change. I wasn't feeling all that bad when I went in to begin with.
Please help if you can... and if you want my personal e-mail/IM for further conversation I would be glad to provide it.
    Thank you!

Greetings from sunny south Florida!!! :)

First of all, good choice doing the suboxone thing, it is by far exponentially better than other drugs used. I too recently did a suboxone detox. I did it one week, the doctor wanted me to do 3 months, did not see the need.
    A brief history:
Ex Con, heroin addict, got it together, work at a job at one of the 10 largest companies in the world as a network administrator, have my life back and against my better judgement started on a oxycodone 30mg. X 4 daily for pain from my doc.

After 3 months I have a gorilla on my back, Although I,m not obsessing I have a big dependency issue. I travel because Florida/Caribbean is the district I support. If I get stuck without theses pills I'm sick as a dog. So, I am putting my career in jeopardy.

However I an so grateful to what was given to me and how I help myself by helping others I could not continue this insanity.

I have done a bupenorphine detox off H a few years back and it was the easiest thing to do at the time, I was ready.

Suboxone is basically the same but with narcan(naxalone). You are on a low dose, its a piece a cake. Trust me, I have coldturkey heroin 3 times in the past. This is easy. Dont stress it.

I too have my family behind me, I always was up front with them. However IMHO you do it for yourself. If you are not there for you , you cannot be there for others.
Life is simple now for me without worrying where my next fix is. Ya cant just do it on will power alone, seek those who will support you. ;)
