1. The Hipforums announces it first ever fundraiser. After nearly 30 years online, we must ask our members and guests to help support the website. Thanks to years of ongoing financial support of our members, advertisers and volunteer admin staff, we have been able to keep the forums alive.

Now we must ask for help as available funds have all been used for our Internet server and other fees.

So please donate any amount to our PayPal account donate@Hipforum.com to keep the site going. If we can get enough for a few months fees, we won't need to nag you again!

subcultures are an inevitable part of having a culture

  3. What i love about sub cultures is that they are often meant to be a counter-culture and end up being twice as useless and petty as culture itself.

    Just be yourself.

well my young friend, you did not go to high school in the 1980's. If you did, you would realize that it was worse back then..I think.

heheh no, i graduated h.s. in 1966. in a little town up in the surial nervana mountains in california. i don't know better or worse, just know it wasn't easy doing my own thinking and trying to be honest with myself. probably never is. wonder if it's easier in odd numbered decades then even ones?

i was already on my own in the 70's AND 80s. i did take some college classess during that time, but even then i was living on my own when i did, so i can't really judge.

  7. I think led-zep lover has the most cause to be upset here.

Subcultures are becoming increasingly dumb and useless. Hippyism and punkism are just status symbols these days.

Led zep man...just chill out and go with the people who refuse the mantra. You'll find your way. ;)

subcultures are extremely important, because it separates everyone into diferent stuff

could you imagine how boring it would be if everyone was the same?
