Did you soak them in hot or cold water? Heat tends to set stains so make sure you soak your pads in cold water. You can even add an oxygen based cleaner to the water to help clean them. Chlorine free is best.

    Thudly,

    Moonpads are cloth menstrual pads.

    I'm sorry I asked.

However..... this gives me something to bust my daughters' ass with, as in, "Heather, are you out of moonpads?" or, "Amber, I saw your dog dragging off one of your moonpads", or Katie, "Quit throwing your moonpads out the window; the possums are fighting over them!"

    Priceless!

i was soaking them in cold water. Hot sets blood stains and makes them impossible to remove. i washed them once, regularly and when they came out still a little gross, i used spray and wash, and still nothing. Now im trying soaking them in cold water with a little detergent. I give the contained a big ol' shake every time i go pee, just to mix things up a bit...... A friend of mine says she soaks them and scrubs them in cool water for a while then washes them and they come out clean, but i can't imagine wanting to do that all the time....plus wouldn't all the scrubbing kinda wear out the saturability of the fabric? but if you ladies say it's normal that it doesn't all come out, then i guess that's okay
Strawberry shortcakes face will just never be the same

I don't think it really matters if they're a little stained...nobody sees it but you. :) A couple of mine are, I don't really care. I rinse them, then put them in the wash. If the stains really bother you, hydrogen peroxide added to the wash removes blood (learned that from my midwives!), but I don't do that...it defeats my purpose for using cloth pads in the first place because I don't want any added chemicals and whatnot to my girl products.
