ok, maybe that's overstating it, but what are some things you can't imagine doing without? what things do you use/have out of habit, could you do without easily, if they broke? our microwave died, and hubby suggested that maybe we just wouldn't get a new one. i was horrified. we use it ALL the time. he was trying to convince me that anything that you could cook in the microwave could be cooked in the oven, which is true, but i can't imagine going back to spending hours baking a potatoe...so anyway, we got a new one. on the other hand, when my hair dryer broke a while back,i didn't really care, because it wasn't really a big deal to me to let me hair air dry. i know people who would say that a hairdryer is a must have item, but not to me.
hmmm, I definitely rate the coffee maker much higher on my chain of needs than the microwave or the hair dryer.
computer, tv, coffee pot, shower, toilet, cats, husband, friends, lights, heater/AC, bed, blankets, water, yep...that's about it.
we have a coffee maker, but we haven't used it in a year. if it broke, i wouldn't miss it. i try to aviod caffiene as much as possible. it gives me migraines.
Luxeries I couldn't live without... or at least would be said if they went AW/OL: 1. Something to watch movies on. Be it VCR, DVD, or computer that can handle the downloading. Cher (moi) doesn't exist in a universe without movies. 2. A really, really comfy bed. Ever notice how you feel when you sleep in someone's guest room or something? You feel like poo, because the beds in guest rooms suck ass. 3. Microwave.... the best friend of the lazy, uninspired student chef.
hair dryer microwave starbucks drive through instant coffee hair ties-have you ever not had one laying around-it bites biosilk-the hair stuff I would be lost or grumpy without the above
super, i agree about guest beds. ours is horrible, lol. i pity the person that spends the night at our house. they'd be just as well to sleep on the floor. the mattresses are crappy, but it isn't really a priority to buy new ones for the guest room.
running hot water...washer...shower...heater Coffee pots & microwaves are nice and I use one now but have spent lots of time without them. I haven't owned a hair-dryer for years.
