What are you doing over the holidays? Are you working, travelling or generally mashing it up/relaxing? :)

If I count as a student I plan to try lots of new things this summer and generally have a good time.

Well I'm a drop out student now, but I'm living with my boyfriend, partying, and working part time at Sobey's. (Yes, me a cashier, go figure)

I'm doing the whole festy thing, helping to organise many a successful freeparty occasionally (the last couple were brilliant and had awesome locations!) and teaching English for my uni's summer school.

What festivals you guys heading to?

Shambala is the main one, but I'm doing the locals this weekend, Rhythms of the world on Saturday and Bedford River Festival on Sunday.

Ooh, it'd be good if you did, me, Finnaz, Quoth the Raven, Nerthus and Sal are going I think, plus about 20 million of Fin's friends and Holly's friends.

Funny, I'm going to ROTW on Sunday...is this the first or second time they've had it at the Priory? Last time I went it was in town and was absolutely mad...

This is the first time, for the last 15 years it has been 'Europes largest FREE festival of world music', now it's just another pay-to-go-in festival. It was much better when it was in Hitchin, but I shall see tomorrow.

Ahh, then it must have been last year when it was mad. I talked to a clown twisting balloons who said he was working non-stop for 10 hours making balloons, and that it was the first time he'd been that busy. There was also a big fight on Windmill hill that, from a distance, looked rather amazing. But I'm sure it was a mess...

We sat on 'the hill' for a little while and it was all quiet, half an hour later it was bedlam. Shame, but it was rather inevitable. Also your only allowed to bring 4 cans of beer or a bottle of wine this year, sucks.

sounds like they are clamping down with alcohol restrictions. I did hear there were quite a few incidents last year. I was near St. Marys and it was nearly bedlam there as well...just too many people everywhere you went. Should be interesting to see how the whole vibe changes. Two years prior to last year it was a great weekend...last year I felt it a bit mixed.
