Stuck on this painting! Ideas/comments?

I usually hate self portraits, but I decided to challenge myself and try one-I got to a point where I love the self portrait part, but cannot complete the rest of the painting...the whole idea was that it was supposed to be kind of like a dream, where below was my self portrait, and above were my thoughts/dreams....I was going to do clouds above my head, kinda like this: http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/album.php?albumid=3981&pictureid=30701
ive tried to paint alot of different clouds but i cant get them painted right-i always am unhappy with the result. So i decided to try something different, coming up with this...

and although i like the light coming in from the left, i dont like the flower on the right (unfinished...)

But does anyone have any suggestions? I'm kinda stuck, and im just looking for new ideas. but if the clouds idea is a good one, let me know, ill just be persistent i guess haha....

marvelous. to a person like me, who inst really familiar with technique or complexity of artwork, those pictures are really beautiful.

 

i have to say i think it works really well. i think it'd prosper with some more development but i think it's going in a solid direction.
and i really like the colors.
