http://theweek.com/article/index/221242/did-a-stroke-really-turn-a-straight-man-gay Did anyone else hear about this, certainly is going to make the fundies angry...
Not heard about it but having read the above I must admit my gut feeling is that it is at least 75% bullshit.
It's in The Daily Mail but its been reported all over the news and radio stations. The guy is adamant that he is not lying and has even asked his exs if they thought he was gay before the stroke. Also there are famous cases where peoples sexual attraction has been changed by strokes, for example a man in his 40s started sexually abusing his daughter after a stroke to the point where he was arrested, he escaped charges on the grounds of mental illness, because when the blood vessel repaired it stopped soon after the procedure. There are many other cases, since homosexuality is clearly not purely genetic and clearly not purely a choice, but a complex interplay of genetics and environment, I think it's at least possible, although I am as skeptical as the next man.
I respect the fact that we all are entitled to our own opinions. Having read about it more since my post above, it seems that it possible that he could have been gay all the time without actually realising it - that possibile explanation came from someone from the Stroke Association. So my feeling is that he did not 'become gay', it was part of him all along.

My guess is that he was always gay. Maybe the jolt back to reality after suffering something so life threatening allowed him to stop blocking it out. Who knows really though, it could be possible.
I'm with Lucretia, sometimes after a near death experience people can't stand to live a lie, life is short after all.
I can only imagine that the stroke turned him into a golfer as well, why else would he have a golf tee in his ear.
