lol. i remember those days. now they try to pretend they're us and that we're them. the "moral majority" who were neither moral nor a majority. same crowd as trump's base and brown shirts, still dragging their same knuckles.
Those 'dirty hippies' look more clean cut and well educated than the crop if youths we have today... I'd have to say our generation did a shit poor job raising kids.
Those hippies who have made it this far tend to look a lot like this today. A member of the counter-culture 50 years ago, the woman on the right sits on the Supreme Court of the State of Vermont. The woman on the left is an artist, and the guy in the center with the solar panels behind him is a farmer. Yep, hippies - the backbone of society.
I disagree. Considering the apocalyptic shitshow that we've left them; a feudal peonage economy that indentures them to the banks essentially for life, an irreperable "failed State" rapidly degenerating into overt Fascism, a rapidly destabilizing climate driven by an increasing number of intractable positive feedback loops, and the rapidly snowballing Anthropocene Mass Extinction Event, I think that we've failed our children on much more profound metrics than simply grooming (remember what our parents thought of our hair?); failed them (and all future generations, if any) catastrophically. If our grandchildren fully understood their legacy in all of it's myriad ramifications, they'd murder us all in our beds.
Me walking across the street in La Haina, Maui minding my own beeswax: Man and wife looking at me with my long hair: Boy, there's a cute one, huh? Me, ignoring morons.
Others became moronic Yuppies in the rotten 1980s and some others wanted INTO the Establishment , not OUT.
we've left incredible government debts for future generations, if that is what indebted to banks means. certainly a failed state that constitutes a spoils system.
Sonny Bono was NEVER a hippie. He was a money grubbing user of other people's talents and a con artist to boot. Just ause someone wears bell bottoms and had long hair does not mean they were a hippie... it's what is in your head man... not your threads.
