Oh I see...you're one of those jabronies who thinks that PETA doesn't care about humans. Actually, we work to protect the rights of ALL members of the animal kingdom, including humans.
I can personoly vouch that canada geese are good eating. Ive shot a few geese. they're simular in size to a big turky, so I usully cut them upp and cook everything seperatly.
i've had some sort of foul shot with beads. the guy who gave it to me was spitting out pellets. geese are a pain in the ass. all they do is his and crap. kill a few it won't matter. they'll set limits to the killing so it'll pan out.
Well, PETA sure can turn a phrase! "offering the flesh of the dead geese" - what a crock to get ya worked up. Sounds like food to me.
Am I the only one who sees the irony here. These being a pet/animal forum everyone loves their sweet domesticated companions, wouldn't dream of letting anything happen to them. But wild/farm animals (just as intelligent and capable of suffering)... who cares. Before you ask yup I'm a vegetarian. Not a scary fanatic (well only sometimes), and willing to live and let live. (emphasis on live of course) It just baffles me how people can be so selective about which animals are friend or foe. TTFN Sage
yeah, I see the irony in it. That's why I post the way I do. The irony is... do'ya ever see the lions 'humanly' eat the gazelles? NO! They rip their throats out and seem to enjoy it immensley. Even my pet, loving kitty, is a killer. She's a mega hunter without any remorse. I've seen her play with her prey. (I keep telling her that there's plenty of groceries, she doesn't need to feed us!) Humans are the only ones that think we are NOT part of the eco system. Me, I'm realistic. I am an animal. Guess what? So are you. Now, if they were doing something MEAN, not just shooting them - like maybe putting bags over their heads, electrocuting them, threatening them with dogs, raping their wives, putting them in goose refugee camps and starving them to death, maybe I would think that was worth protesting.
fine if you want i'll have an order of rat mouse, guppy, chincilla gerbil, hamster, cockatele, cat, dog, horse, bunny, and pink baby guinie pigs. happy now?
I know humans are animals. That's why I joined PETA. I hate AR groups who say they protect the rights of all animals yet leave humans out of it. PETA doesn't do that. However, humans have the ability (unlike other animals) to know what's humane and what isn't.
Well, no. Just sometimes the inhumanity of humans to other HUMANS should take precedent. And, I've probably eaten most of the stuff on that list you have there... horse meat while I was in Spain (they put it in everything, you can't tell) cat & dog & probably rodents in Chinese restaurants here in America, rabbits my mom raised for food... and some other weird stuff You do know that the continent of Asia is doing a booming business in rat meat, since they had to kill all their chickens due to the bird flu. I personally would rather eat fried chicken - but sometimes ya gotta do what you gotta do. And PETA themselves point out this about the geese: "Killing the geese will not resolve any problems associated with these birds, as more geese will quickly move in to fill the vacant niche." which to me means they are not endangered and are become a pest animal. Conures regularly put farmers in the poor house by destroying entire crops. Children starve because of parrots. So which cause do you choose, the 'plight of the parrot' - farmers eliminating entire flocks, or the plight of the farmer?
u kno i don't seee why we have to bury our dead. we could just chuck em in the woods for the dogs. why is it that we can kill everything we want but it's a horrible tradgedy wen someone gets killed by something
Wild goose is one of the most gorgeous meats. yummy. Its just management. In case u havnt noticed...a very large portion of what we call "Nature" is actually completely managed by man. And in a case where a species is actually able to become out of control in its numbers and Nature is unable to do her thing of controlling numbers via predators and hard times and disease.........welll thats an indication of Mans influence on "Nature" being the key issue. Man making it too easy for em to survive......in indication of a completely Man managed environment. And where that is the case it is our job to step in as predator and do the job that predators/disease/bad winters etc etc etc should be doing and cull the numbers back to a normal level. At a local pond where lots of people like to go to feed the ducks and geese I saw this year over 50 healthy and growing Goslings. Baby animals are supposed to have a high mortality rate. The stupid and sickly should be killed off quickly in natures plan of things. Less than half of that number should have survived...........Think about it if they all survive...they all breed...their offspring all survive...they all breed...... It soon spirals out of control. And dont give me crap about "Oh, I dont see anyone culling people and theyre out of control numbers wise...." Yea im well aware of that..........but get realistic....when anytime soon is a cull on Homo Sapiens EVER going to happen??????
