Ah, but I have a collection of deep cycle batteries and a couple of different inverters. I can run the lights, fridge and the internet for 3 days on battery alone. I'm not trying to be off grid until I'm forced into it. When that happens, we won't be wasting watts on frivolous shit.

don't forget, you can run a diesel on veggie oil. (rudolph diesel actually intended his engine to run on primarily peanut oil - he was a contemporary of george washington carver, and they often exchanged correspondence) so if you've got the space, plant some oil yielding crops and get a press. press your oil, strain it, and most diesel engines and gennies can run on straight with no problems (and actually keeps em cleaner) or you can cut your diesel fuel 75% veggie, and either way, it'll save you a great deal of money - if your weather gets bitter cold, you'll need to have a preheater anyway, because (if you're cold enough) you know that diesel and related can turn to jelly.

if you can track it down theres a bit from the Wartime Farm docu-series where they convert a vehicle to run on coal.

i know to diversify. i have spent more than half my years interested in survival, and that has evolved over time, but its well rooted.
dont you worry none about me.

coal is for amateurs. try cellulose gasification. (jk, but it is fascinating tech, and if you're near a feed plant, lumbermill, etc.. your feedstock for gasification is practically free.)

wow what a race today, the long Watkins Glen.. lol today, I mean bloody all hours of the morning. We set our race to start around 2am so that Americans and Australians could join in decent time zone, basically we ruined it for Europeans but full 43 cars took the grid, i started 8th and finished in 6th after 90 laps. I made 3 little mistakes and one costly one that probably cost me maybe even 3rd. Turned too hard right in the bus stop and was looking at the wall but managed to spin the car sideways in the gravel to catch it before i wrecked out. then shook it all off, got back on the wheel and started hammering again.
