Well I have been playing guitar for the past three or four years. I started out playing alot of metal stuff. But then I started smoking alot. So I progessed onto more bluesy/jammy type stuff. I have been listening to alot of Rock also. I just got the White Pepper album from ween and there is this song on there called "A Tear For Eddie", its an instrumental. I started messing around and found the key it was in and started jamming.

For me this was the most intense jam I have ever done. It went on for almost 5 minutes straight. I plan on recording myself jam on it sometime soon and try to post it up for you guys to hear.

I would really like to know what some of you guys think.

I'm the same way man I just recently learn how to hear correctly with my ears. I Love being able to listen to a song mess around with a couple scales and being able to tell which one fits the song and then just jamming out with it.

You don't need a good voice to be a good singer.

Thats the truth man. You just have to be able to follow a tune well.

I can't sing and play guitar at the same time, it's too confusing, I just keep thinking "dont fuck up dont fuck up" and thats when I usually fuck up.

But drums are another story, I smoked a god damn joint and played Detroit Rock City..... Well I can't any more actually, my double kick pedal broke :(

    Only 5 minutes??
Playing guitar is all I do when high, I can jam for hours.

Btw, ive recorded some of my shit high, and its all real slow (not that that's a bad thing), but it just dosent have the impact and intensity it does while improvising, thats why improv is so awsome.

all you need is the passion.

as long as you got passion you will be a good singer/musician/lyricist

i wish i could play the guitar, cause i know i would jam out all the time.. there's so much awesome music out there that i wish i could play.
i just have to settle with just listening to my boyfriend jam out on the guitar, but that's good enough for me cause he's really good at playing

yay, love seeing like minded ppl. i definitely love jamming whether sober or stoned. but i find it much more easy stoned, (the whole inhibition thing)
for me, playing guitar is like a time machine. honestly. i pick it up, and then it's like hours just whoosh by.
btw, cap. cannabis, i used to be like that too. i honestly thought it was impossible to sing and play at the same time. but i find it's like swinging a golf club. the less you try, the easier it is. not a good explanation i know.
butyeah, i decided to learn guitar a few years ago cause no one in the band ever wanted to do the same style of music, or the same covers. so i said fuck it, i'll do it myself. and i'm soooo glad that i did.
