The first two times I ever ate mushrooms I experienced basically no nausea at all. However, the third time I ate mushrooms it was unplanned. That same night I had been drinking. Although I only had 3 beers it definitely unsettled my stomach when I ate the mushrooms later that night. I experienced a terrible feeling of sickness and could not keep myself from puking:puke:. The next time I ate mushrooms I got sick again. And the next time and the next time. Although I have never drank before tripping again I still get sick everytime, even off of a half-eighth. I am now considering making mushroom tea for my next trip. My question is how easy is it to make the tea and do you experience nausea from the tea? I am quite sure that it is the mushrooms being in my stomach themselves that make me sick so if I eliminated that factor would I be fine?

Yeah give it a shot, it's easy to make just grind them up and steep them in hot water for 15 minutes. You could also consider Lemon Tekking it (grinding them up, soaking them in real lemon juice for 15 minutes, eating the whole thing like soup), this pre-digests them and is more efficient than tea, which can destroy the active compound from the heat. you could also drink some ginger ale or something with them.

The taste of mushrooms always makes me nauseous so I now make them into capsules so I can swallow them without tasting them. Also since the mushrooms are already finely ground up in the capsules they are quickly digested and upset stomach is kept to a minimum.

The mushroom matter itself is really hard on your stomach. The drawback of making a tea is it can be somewhat less potent. However, boiling the tea at a lower temperature can help that.

I'm from CO too Kdawg, welcome to the site.

Ginger all the way. Ginger ale, ginger tea, ginger capsules...any of those should help. If you get ginger ale make sure its REAL ginger ale, not that watery generic shite. You could try smoking a little bit of weed, though that could intensify the trip (not always good). There's also a Chinese herbal remedy called "curing pills" or "pill curing" that I've found to be very good for upset stomachs. Never tried it for shrooms though.

If I was to make the tea what would be an appropriate water temperature to extract the psilocybin with minimal loss of potency?
