Still happy 2020 is over?

I was. But in the first week of 2021 a huge mob of morons storm the capitol ready to die for Trump. They're threatening more attacks, haven't got sense enough to see that they're cult members and their leader, who never respected them, has abandoned them. We don't know what will happen next or where and when it will happen.

Anyway the new year is off to a really shitty start, hopefully things will calm down.

 

I wasn't expecting a switch to be thrown Jan 1st making everything "all better"...

Somewhat better would have been nice, though.

in all honesty... I'm glad that Biden is going into the White House. He's talking stimulus, environmental ideals, and he's got Kamala Harris in tow... It's going to be a better year this time around.

 

For the supposedly leading democracy in the world, this is a political disaster. China and Russia are lapping it up and pointing the finger at the States saying "well this is where Western democracy gets you". To be honest, they have an undeniable point. American democracy has failed big time. Whether it recovers under Biden and Harris remains to be seen.

 

EVERY GODDAMN DAY I have to wonder if anything terrible will happen today. There are 10 days left until Biden takes over, and every one of those days I'll be wondering. At times like this paranoia is normal.

Question: Where are we going to find the resources to deprogram all these Trump Cultists? There's so goddamn many of them!

Honestly, I have a feeling the attitude in Hollywood - in television and cinema, can steer the course of that sort of thing to some degree. They will be outcasts if they choose not to confront their issues.

 

As much as I despise Trump I never thought things would get this fucked up. I knew he was holding his Save America rally on the 6th and they were planning to march on the Capitol afterward, but I thought even Trump would try to keep them calm. I thought he'd tell them to keep it peaceful, don't cross the barricades, just let your voices be heard. But instead he incites a riot.

Trump isn't just deranged, he's evil. We need to procede with the impeachment process to make it official that he can never hold any political office again.

glad i live closer to the west coast but in a lower density state then right on it.

i'm glad there was an election. i'm glad biden won. as for those idiots who think their lust for fascism is doing the world any favors, they're welcome to go away any time, even if they never do.
hopefully trump's party will finally disown him. everyone else already has. not for vengence, but deterance of some kind.

politics and pandemic aside, there really wasn't all that much a big deal about the year itself. its just that years ahead without the past four year's politics is something to look forward to.
