Does anyone else find that sometimes thier buds are a bit too sticky, like alost wet, like they hadnt been dried enough? I find this a common problem, especialy with really potent bud. My question is, is this a problem, are there any dissadvantages of smoking sticky bud, personaly I think it lasts longer, you get more hits off it. I have some really really sticky, damp bud at the moment, I was wondering if I should dry it out a bit?
i usually dry my bud out a little when i first get it if i have an orange peel ill hydrate it too but i find it annoying when you have super damp bud that wont cherry in the bong
if you're paying high prices, you deserve properly dried weed. if not, you're getting ripped off. like most plants, cannabis has a high water content. if its not dried thoroughly, then what weighs an eighth one day may lose a gram or so over the next couple days. i personally want dry weed, especially if i'm paying a lot of money for it. are you aware some dealers actually ADD moisture to dry weed they buy, so that it will weigh more when they sell it? uncommon with good stuff, but its a common trick with mids. even lousy pot can be pretty sticky...but being moist is a whole different thing. it does burn slower - because there is much more water in it. i get pissed when i have moist weed.
if you're getting very damp buds it weighs out in the dealers favor. Sometimes they will purposely make the weed wetter to make it weight more. Watch out for that.
I dont buy my pot by weight, and infact im getting a good deal. My dealer grows the most potent shit around and always sets me up with a good deal. So how do you dry out your buds?
What do you mean you don't buy by weight, even if hes hooking you up i'd still think he would give you some idea how much your getting, like half, quarter, ounce?..
/\ sometimes they dont gotta sell by weight, they can say hey i need a 50 bag, and the dealer will see how good shit he has, and give him whatever he thinks is $50 worth, pretty common in some areas.
that's what people do around here too sometimes, but usually it's a 50 bag of whatever and they'll tell you how much is in it so you can negotiate.
^Yeah, I dont live in America and the way we buy weed over here is like that, you can buy a foil (weed wrapped in tin foil), a fifty bag, or a hundred bag and you negotiate. Lol if I asked for like 5 grams of weed, they'd just give me a wierd look and say wtf? Anyhow, what would be a good way to dry damp bud?
ok, heres a thread that should answer any questions about how good bud should be cared for AFTER harvest....these people seem to know what they're talking about, and im certainly no expert on the process having never done it before. but if you have really fresh bud, this will tell you how to dry and cure it, which will improve quality to a significant degree. http://www.hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=186567 i've smoked both really fresh stuff that was a ripoff in the long run because it was 50 dollars for an eighth which, in the end, weighed less than an eighth once it was actually dry. but if you only care about drying it out, just....dry it out. leave the container you keep it in open, allow the moisture to evaporate....expose it to fresh air and in time it will dry. dont dry it real quick with a heatlamp or oven or anything, though. it can decrease the quality of the weed.
no worries. weed that i've smoked which was dried and cured fairly well was awesome! some of the best weed i've had. and i've bought some wetter stuff that still tasted awesome and had a nice high, but i still wasn't getting what i paid for, and it didnt smoke QUITE as well. and then i've bought wet stuff that tasted terrible, and would only smoke well after a few days of drying out. didnt stop me from smoking though....what can i say, i love to get stoned. thats why i've never done it all the way through the curing process, just dried shit out...cause i'm too impatient, and i've never had so much fresh weed where i could afford to cure it when i eventually grow, though, things will be different....
