Conservative groups like Alliance Defending Freedom claim that a Biden-appointed federal judge ruled a female assigned male at birth can continue competing on the San Jose State University women’s volleyball team. That's really not an issue and total nonsense. That's a medical and scientific fact issue, not a political or moral one. Transgender people have the same rights as anyone else. Stop clouding the issue with your misinformation. It's just like in the 70s and 80s when Phyllis Schlafly told everyone that the Equal Rights Amendment would lead to forced military drafts of women and unisex bathrooms. No and no. Women (the SCOTUS said in interpreting the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment) are different physically. They have weaker upper body strength. Stop confusing the issue with your nonsense and stick to the facts.
Can confirm, this is inaccurate. And it's only going to get worse over the next few years. Only a handful of US states have anti-trans discrimination laws. In most states, it's totally legal to deny us employment and housing. The "right" for trans people to serve in the military seems to come and go, depending on administration. The same idiots who claim "the left" doesn't allow parents to raise their own children have banned trans healthcare for children--regardless of what parents and doctors have said (remember: these are also the same people whose rant against ACA was "keep government out of healthcare!") In certain states, trans people must use the bathroom that correlates with the gender on their birth certificate. These states also ban trans people from amending the gender marker on their birth certificate. In Florida, Buck Angel has to use the women's restroom, or risk going to jail. And I would have to use the men's room. What rights we do have were earned through protest and civil disobedience; they weren't bestowed upon us upon birth like most Americans'.
