Loved the part about pulling out a bale of hay and a beer to show he's "a regular Joe".

    Love that man.

There hasn't been this much excitement since Pat Paulsen announced his candidacy for the 1968 campaign. :)

Let's all vote for him. We can vote for anyone who qualifies for president. If he's not on your ballot during primary or general election season, vote for him as a write-in candidate. Steven Colbert qualifies. He's an american-born citizen over 35. We can do it as a big protest to the election machine that has fucked up our country for years.

Honestly I think he'll find another hillarious way to withdrawl from the primary before it happens, he knows if he actually stayed in it it could totally screw up votes for everyone else running.

Remember, he's only running in South Carolina too.

^ eh, like the politician's themselves don't screw it up constantly

I think it would be awesome if he stayed in and won South Carolina =P

OMG, I remember that! Remember his "dry" delivery? What a riot. I'm having a hard time bringing up what show he was part of. The Carol Burnett Show? The Tim Conway Show? Can't remember...dang.

I wish Stephen would stay in too, but like the other poster said, I think he'll find an equally humorous way to bow out.

^ So what's wrong with running a dead candidate for President? :)

The one we have now is brain-dead anyway.

And with the type of face Paulsen had, who would know the difference? :)

So far the folks over at the Colbert Report have done a suberb job of highlighting the beauraucratic weaknesses of our election system and politics in general. Can't wait to see where they go with this.

If he doesn't win the election, Colbert is deserving of a position such as Proctologist General, considering the way he uses his finger all the time. :)
