my firend has a jeep cheroce 1988 the starter broke and we cant find it where it is where the hell is it note: we dont know a thing about cars so dont confuse me
Thats what I said to myself when I read you cant find it but then I seen ur 15, you didnt specify weather it was a 6 or a 8, non the less its on either the right or left side just under the exhaust manifold.
It'll be at the back of the transmission. Go to your local auto parts store ie Napa Autozone,O'Reilly's, and buy whats called a Chilton manual. Just tell the clerk/parts man that you need a Chilton manual and what year make and model and he'll help ya out. Chilton manuals have illustrated easy to follow step by step instructions. They'll even tell you what size sockets to use. Replacing a starter is usually a pretty simple task. Its usually a matter of unhooking the lead and ground wire and unbolting the starter. Save the old starter and turn it in when you purchase the new starter. Have fun!
