Starting barefoot groups on meetup.com

That's a screenshot of what happened when I put barefoot hiking then those suggestions appear below and when you click on them the heart goes red I guess adding them as a keyword. One barefoot hiking group I found has 360 members.

I have tried multiple times to start such a group ( here in regressive Philly) to zero success. I believe group success depends entirely on location (some Northeast and West Coast groups have flourished), but it’s luck of the draw, time of year, luck of the draw, and where you are. Good luck! Unfortunately, you’ll probably need it!❤️

 

It could be a way to lead more people to finding the barefoot section here on hip forums. I will have to mess with it some more and see if I can put a link on meetup leading here.

 

No BF hiking groups anywhere near me. There is a local "Barefoot is Legal" Meetup group, but it appears pretty inactive.
I posted a message there and ended up doing a short BF hike with another member (and hopefully more).
But the group itself appears mostly dead unfortunately. I messaged the organizer but no reply.
