May The Fourth Be With You I remember seeing the film as a kid when it first came out, just blew me away. When I had a video of it I wore out the tape where Obi had his showdown with Vader, hehe.
A story that became a cult - and to some a religion - though the message of "A New Hope" - along with the line "..and there is another" = something to hold onto in the Darkest of Forces conspire. After all ... "Strike me down, and I shall become more Powerful than you could ever imagine"
millineal spanning epoc, and recycled characters, are something of a poor fit, however memorable each might be. a perpetual state of conflict, produces no means of sustainence. death stars are not required to destroy worlds. a large enough stray rock, accelerated to near translight velocities and accurately aimed, would be quite sufficient to do the job. the entire concept is so rife with howlers at its most fundimental level. only the eye candy redeams it. and it does that. star spanning is not inconceivable, but empires have a big problem with them self. a peaceful universe with extremely exceptional rogues would be far more convincing, then one subject to the enforcement of tyranny. at least they got diversity right. or tried to.
