You know, the Enterprise was always fighting the Borg. But I sometimes wonder if earth wouldn't have been happier as part of the Borg collective. And then sometimes, like in the The Best of Both Worlds they found some deus ex machina solution. (All you had to do was put them to sleep? Phasers had no effect? But just that?) But sometimes I wonder if earth wouldn't have been happier as part of the Borg collective. They thought no, and fought them. But how did they know? They'd be well-fed, have solid military protection. And they'd never be lonely because they'd share each other's thoughts. Thoughts?
I'm more of a raver than I ever will be a Trekkie and that will not change, But TNG was part of my sincere appreciation of television and what was offered through its medium universally watched, loved, and experienced. I really liked Deep Space Nine because it felt totally niche and originally, I thought it was too nerdy! Later I loved it, but not until watching episodes on DVD well after the show was likely no longer aired.
Ukraine has a tough deal, but one thing seems really obvious to me that may be a little mysterious to other people and that is this: NATO on Russia's border is EXACTLY like the Cuban missile crisis.
Just watched the episode where Picard is assimilated and turns into Locutus. Great episode! Series 4 episode one.
There is something far worse than the BORG out there... they are the Architects. They turn worlds into creative sculptures, disregarding any life forms present.
Currently reading "Make it So" an autobigraphy from Patrick Stewart, aka Captain Picard. Much of it is just gossip, but the chapters about his Next Generation role are quite interesting. Guess who was the major prankster on set? Guess who was the least fun to work with? The answers are in the book. Read it. Free at your local library.
